Re: Coaching Females

An interesting article that has come out this morning on AFLW. This issue was previously brought up in a separate topic, but thought it deserved its own thread. https://www.sen.com.au/news/2018/02/06/burkeys-guide-on-how-to-coach-girls/ This is dumb, there are a lot of guys who would have the same ...

This doesn't even make sense as the first team coach left with 2 games to go. There was no coach to re-apply.

Best thing about the cup is getting to play a team that plays on the other day in my opinion.

It's nice to be back after a long absence.
The way Brahma were hyped up I thought every match was going to go to double digits.

Re: Adelaide Budapest

It is sad news. My question is the following: How can clubs like San Marco and Budapest just non exist in 2016? There has to be more to it then just saying this division won't suit us etc I personally fear for many clubs. The next generation are not interested in taking on responsibility and puttin...

Re: New SAASL Website

It's up. Same same. But different! Looks like they need to iron out some formatting bugs. Like that it looks like they will have previous years results/tables eventually. Still no fixtures. Jeez it's 2016, not hard to have a decent website. Interesting that their social media link is to the SAASL g...

Re: Hot Weather Policy - W-League

The wind was a major influence, ball swirled all over the place.

Pitch definitely favoured Adelaide, they train on it every day. The Perth players were getting quite sore in the calves and Adelaide ran all over them in the last 15 mins of the match.

Re: Hot Weather Policy - W-League

How are the allowed to just change the venue and more importantly the surface on the day. I assume they have refunded people's tickets as people paid to see 2 games. As for Perth, they may not have had Astro footwear with them and no trained on Astro previously. Stupid decision A lot of Perth playe...

Men's team has requested that it be changed. With the women playing at the hottest part of the day I'd be surprised to see it go ahead at that time.

Tried actually contacting SAASL? They might have something in their rules about being able to judge it case by case so players can just get on with playing football.

Re: LotG - Protecting the Keeper

It is an offence to restrict the movement of the goalkeeper by unfairly impeding him
So it goes to the ref if he thinks a player is fairly challenging for the ball or if he's just jumping at the keeper to get in his way.
