England follows the FFA lead and adopts small sided games

A pretty big tick of approval for the FFA when a supposedly superior league follows our junior program.

English football is obviously the best because of.............all the Arab,Russian,Jewish, American, and all the other foreign billionaires pumping money into underachieving clubs,.........all the best foreign (italian)coaches passing on their wisdom,( and collecting nice pay packets) and all the be...

Re: National Training Centre (NTC)

Rossonero, i thought the whole idea with the stics is for football skills talent identification, in the dark ages was when players were chosen on if you were bigger, faster, stronger, everything the ffa and the ffa do not want players selected on, speak to Richie, Tony V, or Michael Mattric. and the...

Re: National Training Centre (NTC)

give me an unfit "messi" type kid over a fast agile "usain bolt" runner type player anyday of the week, fitness and speed for kids can be gained and improved in four weeks, football skills and brains can take years to achieve a high level, why the ffsa would have someone like tha...

Re: Round 5

every club promotes players up who deserve it, the issue is when players are dropped back down to a age group or a b team when that team is playing on a different night just to get a win?...some players sit on the bench and recieve no development while others play 2 games in 2 different teams, that ...

Re: should hear more stories like these

great positive story from western strikers, many clubs have been doing this for many years as well, if western stikers really want to continue junior improvment a great place to start would be to take on board what the ffsa is wanting all junior clubs to take on board, that is playing 4-3-3, having ...

croydon try hard not to play too many games on sundays, mid-week games, friday night and sunday afternoon games are prefered so they can move players up and down for those important championship winning games.

Re: Under 12 and 13 Zone trials

some excellent points made.....speaking to other parents and kids from different clubs and the same issues come up every year. a. a zone coach should not be a coach from that age group who would favour his own players, or have a son trialling ........unfortunately has happened in the passed and stil...

Re: smashing teams in juniors

coaches should use some common sence, once 5-0 take off your better players, swap defenders and strikers around, instruct players to play 2-3 touch, thrashing teams creates a false sence of superiority and breeds bad habits like tunnel vision for goal rather than team play, another thing to consider...

Re: 1-4-3-3

its pretty clear from reading his posts on this topic that ak co holic doesnt really care if the 4-3-3 is a better formation to develop better quality young players or not. he would prefer we "all" agree with him, say we "all" want to win at all costs, that "all" the cl...

Re: League Structure thought

All junior players upto the age of 16 must player for a club allocated in their zone where they live, like they do with junior sanfl clubs,( will eliminate parents shopping round their kids every year and develope club loyalty) and remove playing for points until under 17's.

Al co holic, ca you please explain what it is that is more important for the ffa and ffsa to fix and why they are stuck in the dark ages? What is more important than trying to start to develop fast smart attacking possession style young footballers at an early age?
Please explain?

Re: 1-4-3-3

Players like maradonna, pele, etc were taught at a young age to play attacking football which is what the 4-3-3 is designed to encourage......I for one am happy that my club has taken it on board.....for those clubs, coaches, that want to twist it and turn it to suit their own short sighted goals or ...
