Re: Seaford vs Ghan (Maywand) Sun 16 Jun
Well done to Seaford. There's so many examples where a number of offending clubs that get given second, third and fourth chances continue to operate. At the very least, the League should have seen this fixture coming and contacted both clubs weeks ago that they will send higher grade officials (with...

Re: To all the budding referee's out there
The ball was in the keeper's hands so it's Violent Conduct. Not necessarily. I can't say as I haven't seen the incident but ball in keepers hands doesn't necessarily make something violent conduct. The original post stated an 'unprovoked kick'. As the keeper had the ball controlled in his hands it ...

Re: To all the budding referee's out there
Hope it was a club referee you observed. Would be disappointing to hear an official ref interpreted this as just a yellow card. The only way it could be a yellow is if the goalkeeper's actions were viewed as unsporting behaviour in the way he was remonstrating towards the attacker.

Re: SUNDAY DIV 2 Round 5 results.
There was an almost identical 'water squirting' incident towards a referee in an FFSA game last year or year before. It was classified as assault as it could not be determined whether there was a hazardous substance in the bottle or not. I think the guy got banned for a couple of years. Either way, ...

Re: Want to start a referee career?
Every current player should be made to referee a few games where possible. Only then will they understand that no matter what decision you make, some knob, usually with NFI about the laws of the game, will call you a cheat. refs might get some more respect of players get to experience their side. I...

Re: Want to start a referee career?
Pay decent money and you'll attract some good refs. Pay peanuts and you'll get geriatrics like you have now, who ref like it's still 1970. The pay is reasonable I think. Div 1 amateur refs get about $10-15 less than Federation second tier. An ageing association is pretty much standard across ALL sp...

The black only uniform policy is in place but some clubs have got special dispensation for an extra season this year. An updated public statement is there and a copy o0f the letter that the SAASL has sent out to all clubs. http://saasra.wikispaces.com/ There is also a link to a page showing which cl...

Good to see his trip to Europe is not compromised. The fact that he wasn't moved by anyone but trained ambulance officers also meant that there was little if any risk of further complications to the break. It's obviously an unknown but maybe it helped to ensure that doctors were able to get this gre...

Re: League provided linesmen
The League's competition rulings place a lot of responsibilities and obligations on the home club.... as it should be. Any clash of uniforms - home team changes. Only one common changing area - visiting team has first priority. Pay officials - home team. Provide linesman if needed - home team. Clubs...

Re: Home team referees
There's a new initiative this year by the SAASRA. They've got their official refs to 'inspect' club referees in Div 1 and 2 games. They fill out a form and a copy goes to the League. Div 3 and below isn't done because many of the official refs are fairly new. However these club refs are looked at by...

Re: OFFICIAL REFS FOR ALL SAT & SUN PREMIER RESERVE FIXTURES
It's really great that all of a sudden there has been an influx of more referees joining the amateur league. Some have come over from the federation but lots a new refs. Given all the troubles with some clubs, will they still be here in one month, two months or three months time? It's up to how the ...

You beat me too it Swanny. I was thinking that some of the coaches of previous State teams would be good sources of information. There have been lots of comments about how difficult it is to compare previous generation players. I guess that's why it would be really important to ensure that 50% of th...

It is really hilarious when you consider the course has nothing to do whatsoever with the FFSA.... the SAASL didn't have to get permission to access from them. It's open to ANYONE ANYWHERE nationally. I've pasted the Introduction below from https://laws.myfootballclub.com.au/ and as it says, the cou...

Re: Referee instructions yesterday
As I said if the league instructs us that we are no longer able to wear black (shorts and socks as well) as it clashes with the refs then that is fine. However there are a lot of other clubs that incorporate black into their colours as well and I would expect that this ruling would be applied consi...

Re: Referee instructions yesterday
I think the league has been slack in notifying teams of what these changes are. Don't believe most clubs would have a chance to obtain alternate socks before the season starts and perhaps a diagram of what an exceptable shin pad looks like may be handy for clubs to show players so they can arrange ...

There is public statement about the referee uniform policy on the SAASRA web site. http://saasra.wikispaces.com/
I'm guessing the League would be distributing this to the clubs.

Re: SAASL Pre-Season Cup
Irrespective of who the ref is and how he walks, this alleged assault is not a good look for the SAASL at all. Everyone at every club needs to wake up and realise - no refs, no games, no football and need to be educated as such. No refs, no game is going to be a reality sooner than later if this ke...
