Re: New Junior Structure 2014
What percentage of parents and players turn up at a club concerned about which league the Senior team is in? How many turn up with their child that just wants to play soccer? After they have been playing for a while they become aware of their competency at the skills and game and would become aware ...

Re: player developement?
Bandito, you sound really nice and I respect your opinion too. I totally agree with you about the aim to get the Seniors to the top even though my understanding is that the Junior Competition is separate from the Seniors. Also the FFSA say they have no intention of removing the Under 17 competition....

Re: player developement?
correct me if I'm wrong, does it matter where they finish It matters where they finish because the aim of the competition is be on top of the table. I am wondering if some parents are focusing on the thought that being on the bench is a bad experience. While on the bench it is a good time to regath...

Re: player developement?
I think you need to read your post very carefully. It is not a reasonable club decision to drop players down age groups to secure a win or stop a side sliding to the foot of the table. your club, whoever they are (doesn't matter) made the decision to play these boys in a higher age group for their ...

Re: player developement?
I think I was at the same game. As a parent of one of the players brought into the team it is very disappointing to read this post. Last year (when in the U15s) the U17 players selected to play yesterday were the ones benched when "more proficient" players were selected. The only way aroun...

Just noticed the U15 2012 table has changed. Croydon won the league. "Enough said"

Re: Fitness
That would be teaching them to run slowly in a straight line, not really football. Maybe so but the fact is that each player needs to be able to move the entire match, running fast and slow. When I was 13/14 and training from middle distance athletics (not football I know) we trained 4 times a week...

Re: Fitness
When I was coaching a primary school team I noticed an increase in fitness when some of the team started also running in the Corporate Cup (a Life be in it event) 2.5km run once a fortnight.

Re: round results 27/5/12
The advise as a parent I have received from this forum, and else where, is look for the best coach for your player therefore coaches/players and parents should keep in mind that parents and players from other teams are watching them.
