i see that tonight's WSL Pre-season cup game vs Campbelltown has been cancelled, not a good sign for the season ahead.

Re: Croydon
the creation of the reserves league was a good idea in principle but i think the federation assumed that there would be a massive surge of female players interested in playing, this hasn't happened and the talent pool is very thin, this is why we are now seeing clubs using 13/14yr olds for senior fo...

playing numbers 2024
what are peoples thoughts on the post WWC avalanche of new players that doesn't seem to have materialized.
there seems to be a lot of new teams with the addition of a WSL reserve league but is there enough players.
a lot of 14/15yr olds being offered spots in senior teams.

Re: Coaches goings and goings for Season 2024
Haruna couldn't play for Inter next season for one reason. Inter have another Japanese striker coming. That would of meant three internationals and you can only list two on the PPS. She was always leaving. but wouldn't you keep her (as player of the year) and look at moving on the other internation...

Re: Big Brother Wins
the losers in all this are the kids, it is very difficult to get into the State programs ( as it should be) but this offered the kids another opportunity to play through the off season, a real shame that it has happened, i hope that they can keep it going in some form or another.

Re: Coaches goings and goings for Season 2024
There will be the usual merry go round of the same coaches just moving to different jobs, you do wonder if any younger coaches will ever be given an opportunity instead of recycling the same guys over and over again. look through the list of last years coaching groups and see how many clubs each one...

Re: Postecoglou to Tottenham
i think he will be successful there as long as Spurs dampen their expectations, they are a top 6 side just, but are battling for 6th spot with Villa,Brighton and Chelsea, i would say if they finish 7th and have a good cup run, that is a successful season for them.

Re: MINI ROOS Fixtures
my guess is that they got sent out and then clubs have had to adjust kick off dates/times to fit fixtures in before a deadline so they have probably recalled them to give clubs more time to finalise said games.

Re: No Junior Referees
its a high probability that is the reason, disorganization from those in charge would definitely play a part though. its not easy for a young referee to ignore abuse from the sidelines, there definitely needs to be a shift in attitude towards the Referee, especially in junior football. everyone is a...

Re: WNPL / WSL Cup
Do away with having Reserves in the cup also stops clubs who allegedly stack their Reserve team with wnpl players for the first round. Depending on what the rules say, what is to stop Ade City and WTB playing wnpl players for the reserve team in their cup match ? looking at the fixtures, i doubt th...

3 or 4 times isn't it?
Are they struggling to attract a different coach, player turnover and results looked to be an issue last year and it doesnt look like improving this year.
is this a culture problem??

(2) A club may move a maximum of four (4) players from the Junior Premier League to the Junior
State League in any given week.
(5) Goalkeepers are exempt from this rule and may move in accordance with age eligibility.

a real opportunity missed to give a few youngsters a chance of proper game time to showcase what they can do. should have sprinkled the squad with some A-League players who have excelled this year, (Chidiac, Checker, Dawber, Dumont, Privitelli, Vine) continuing to pick the same players and not evolv...

The lad was injured last season......tried to regain fitness etc in time for this season, however has realised he cant pull it off. Hopefully he does regain it all for the future.....hate to see kids with potential leave the sport. I know this lad very well, he has missed one game in 5yrs so to say...

as per previous comment I would say teams have been selected already and they are looking for one or 2 standouts.

i would have to agree, he is 10 yrs old, pick a club and let him make friends and enjoy it. if you want to push him more, have a look at one on one coaching as a separate thing. At 10 he should be enjoying team sport.

Re: Isn't JSL designed to develop player's for JPL?
in my opinion it has been very rare to see players move up to JPL from JSL, previous comments have said that it is usually the other way round and that would seem to be the point. It would seem that some clubs give players and parents the promise of promotion but are really bringing more kids in for...
