Re: Saturday and Sunday in 2024. Why?
I use to play Sunday saasl so I could support the federation teams (northern areas ) on Saturdays. Then I had a season with a federation club, and would go watch my former saasl club on Sundays. Also tried a couple Sat. saasl, very different, back when there very few spectators, everyone left once t...

Re: Adelaide Utd 2022-23 a season to forget
relying on free kicks to score all your goals won't win you many games, so far only scored one out of the six goals from direct play, all the rest have come from free kicks. should we have played for a draw in the second half ? away from home against top side, we haven't won in a while , would have ...

Re: AUFC - A :League Women - Sportsbird
Not a bad start to the season. I think this will shape up to be one of their very best I think BTK you're being too generous. I would argue it is a poor start considering both games at home & both winnable. Also given we were playing against a Canberra team with no Grace Maher & the CCM, a ...

Re: Rule Clarifications
Or the referee ? whether players and/or coaches dont know the rules and/or are trying to exploit them, the final arbiter is the ref.....simple!!! seems not all others know the rules,, you think at wnpl level all players and coaches would be familiar with the laws of the game. they get away with a l...

Rule Clarifications
As a retired Ref just wondering has there been some rule changes lately that I am not aware of ? Last couple of weeks watching our WNPL on NPL TV, women's match game between NTC and WA, the referee blew the whistle for NTC to take the kick off, three WA crossed the halfway line, ran towards the NTC ...

Re: 23 players for Matildas World Cup
two or three names lucky to be there, a bit past their use by date, with all the good young talent we have here. My concern is not the football they play, I am worried it is going to be turned into a political stage. It is a worry when the national coach, and the captain, are more worried about what...

Re: WNPL / WSL Cup
I don't know about that, what you said use to be allowed, but I was talking to a wnpl reserves player earlier in the week, she said her coach was very wary of who plays in the Reserves and who plays in the wnpl side in cup games, as they are not allowed to play for two different teams in the same cu...

Re: WNPL / WSL Cup
Players can always move up- that is, if they've played reserves they can play prems later on in the cup. Once they've played prems in the cup, however, they can't then later move back down and play reserves... I don't know about that, what you said use to be allowed, but I was talking to a wnpl res...

Re: WNPL / WSL Cup
Do away with having Reserves in the cup also stops clubs who allegedly stack their Reserve team with wnpl players for the first round. Depending on what the rules say, what is to stop Ade City and WTB playing wnpl players for the reserve team in their cup match ? looking at the fixtures, i doubt th...

Re: First victims of Dribl?
Esplanade beat PAC 9-0 and 2-0 in the 1st round of the cup, but both teams have now been replaced in the second round by PAC. I’m assuming they know how to use Dribl as the results are there, but does anyone know why the result was overturned? If it was an issue with them using Dribl, it would be g...

Reserves don't need a cup competition they are part of the senior squad. Can't put them against the Community league teams . I can confirm Adelaide Comets played women's football in 2001, I know because I was involved in a team that played against them, they won the league and by memory Salisbury United finished Runners Up.

Re: Relegation
I see a great opportunity for good players at other clubs who are only playing Reserves or sitting on the bench for the A's when they could get a full game in the A's with one of the above mentioned clubs.
Could be some interesting player movement just before the June transfer deadline.

they did the same thing last year r1 when they said no first team games can go ahead without official refs. That lasted a week before they allowed club refs to do first team in the lower divs. reckon the same will happen this year Maybe if players and coaches stopped treating the Ref's like caberne...
