Re: Silly Season

What happened in the Cichinowski final? Downs putting 7 past Jets (I don't Jest!) - after being thrashed themselves earlier in the week by Ghan? Unfortunate if any truth in Unley rumour. A bit late for League to start rearranging fixtures now - looks like a 9 team Premier div? Downs chose to rest p...

Modbury Jets splashing big cash on players, going to need it to be competitive in Div 1. I think you are referring to the fake jets aka modbury soccer club. Modbury Jets have won div 1 for the last 3 seasons Comparing Saturday Amateurs to Sunday amateurs is like compaing the SPL to the EPL. I don't...

Re: Nothing to see here.

We should rename the A League, which google constantly confuses with me looking for "a league", with something more descriptive, say, Australian Football League, AFL for short.

And we could call the SAASL, the Adelaide Football League, AFL for short.

I've heard a couple talking about starting up Collegiate sides, not sure if it's instead of SAASL or in addition to.

Yes but that's just caused by the poor performance of their A grade through the season, not the review of this C grade game.

They'd have to come in at SL2 and work their way up.
I don't think so though.

Jets v Downs is going to be a spectacle. When is that one? Maybe next year - Jets are frauds, really shows that the Saturday comp is a farmers league  Played a real club and got touched up. Showed a red card to a spectator. Good to have a ref but they need to not make basic errors in law. I've seen this happen multiple times in Amateur League games. Saturday 2-4 Sunday.

Hopefully next year they do it at the end of season as a round robin. Maybe CSL were in the same position but I know both Saturday and Sunday had player availablity issues, as players were either away or focused on winning their leagues.

That is preseason dates for some SAASL these days. Who? I'm not aware of any SAASL club getting into things before January, excluding a few cultural clubs playing actual summer seasons. I played a bit of 7 a side with the locals on the "American football field" on the Patong esplanade, th...

Agree that the Liverpool v Arsenal game was a great match to watch, it was loaded with skill, tackles and some top class saves. Pitbulls want to move to their ground, so that they don't have to play on a school oval with no real facilities / bar etc.
Application is in to council awaiting approval I believe.
