Re: Referees

We lost 4-2 yesterday
Referee gave 2 penalties against us in the second half
Both were there in my opinion and he did a good job
No excuses and fair play to him

Re: Referees

As expected the complaining about referees is in full swing on here and also the SAASL Facebook group, only 13 more weeks of it! Seriously, I was making a tongue in cheek comment about what he said - and did make mention that he didn't alter the outcome. Agree with someone else's comment he did 2 g...

Re: Referees

The referee gave us a briefing before the game and told us he would make a number of mistakes - at least he got that right Basically setting himself up for a dodgy game. What he should say is "I may not see everything (clearly)" - then fair enough. Didn't change the outcome so not having ...

Re: Australia & New Zealand to host FIFA Women's World Cup 2023

I suspect the Cartel got into UEFA again. UEFA is corrupt and how could they put anything credence towards Columbia's poor bid. Something smells from that organisation. UEFA has staunchly defended its decision to snub the trans-Tasman 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup bid and block vote for Colombia desp...

Re: Referees

A Referees course won't stop someone from cheating - I was under the impression that each club needs to have a qualified referee anyway My understanding is that most A's Referees will also do B's I don't expect any brawls in our Southern Conference, we generally all have some battles on the pitch bu...

Re: HJ TEMPLIN PRESEASON CUP 2020

I have to say, for the majority Saasl have done a good job navigating through this period, but I cant for the life of me get my head around not being able to play a team outside our group in a friendly game, its not like were trying to tee up a trial game with South Melbourne, we were wanting to pl...

Re: Season 2020

I think the proposed cup/conference system is a sensible way to play some football in a hugely disrupted year. It strikes the right balance between being practical, achievable with the constraints and engaginf for players. It also reduces risk of spreading virus if there is a second wave in mid win...

Re: Season 2020

with FFSA press release today Community football can start June 19 that gives an extra 2 weeks. If this allows for a 16 week rather than 14 week then only 2 midweek catch up games are required. Surely a real season can be had. Heard today of a non competitive season without promotion etc. This woul...

I'll answer then. I hate Celtic. Cheers  Too bad, you'll be hurting all the more when we get 10! :D You could win 50 in a row and still never make it past the Champions Leage group stages. Most of the SPL teams would be Div 2 in England. Ha Division 1 yes, Division 2, maybe the bottom 1 or 2....

Re: Season 2020

Can’t agree more must be a competitive season even if we can’t fit 18 games in - for teams like Port Pirie rather than midweek they could have 2 - 6 point games drawn randomly - 1 home, 1 away so for example we could play them in Pirie for 6 points and they could play Raptors away for 6 points if yo...

Some of the issues to consider for shortened format will be.. a. Re: Rangers v Celtic

Either a season is finished or it isn't? Until something is mathmatically certain then you can't award a winner. 2019/20 SPL Winner - seltic* If clubs and associations agree otherwise you can. If they decide to finish the season now, it's legal and that's it. May not seem right and will give people...

Re: Season 2020

Subject to not having a second wave, whatever happens this season will certainly be treated as a one-off. To maintain reasonable fairness, I suggest initial prelim phase over 9 rounds i.e. play each other once. In Premier leagues, top four then play off to decide the year's champion. Bottom two and...

Re: Season 2020

It's important to see what clubs are thinking. Having come across from the UK, I've always admired how 'professional' the Amateur League was, but sometimes this can become elitist. I've played for Taxi Teams and Pub teams and you turn up and play often twice a week and in conditions that quite simpl...

Re: Season 2020

The association need to start being creative, to allow an 18 game season to be completed. Yep no cup - agree! However, let's take Sunday Div 1 for example. You have PHE, Vale, Gardens, Ghan and West Beach?? who have cricket at their complex. Now, why can't the league structure the fixture list so t...

Would it be worth just starting the season from where it would have been. Say we start back on June 14 round 8 Lose the cup competition and that gives us 3 rounds prior to league season end. Re: Season 2020

what would you suggest? Already made a suggestion, look at earlier posts. Not trying to belittle other ideas by the way, just think if the competition is to have credibility, it has to be played on merits of a proper season, ie home and away. If it's shortened to anything less, I can see that the h...

Re: Season 2020

Why settle for 9 or 18 matches as the only binary options? If an 18 game season is not possible, then why not take a leaf out of Scotlands book, with a split after each team has played each other once. Top 5 play each other again (reverse not being able to drop below fifth), bottom 5 play each othe...

9 games, may as well not bother at all. Player does a hammy and misses half a season or more. Forget cricket requirements - you can use alternative pitches if and when needed. A season of flexible arrangements surely wont be scoffed at. Summer comps generally 7 games - great fun 9 games plus finals...
