Re: Are goal keepers slowly becoming extinct?

Yes - extinct.
That's why there are so many old ones still hanging around.
If you're a GK and didn't make the political list of favoured ones by U14, you're finished in this town.
They are sent the message to go take up AFL.
And so, with their future as a GK over, they do.

Muts you got that wrong my son has never played for cobras just a observation as watched them play against my sons team and they had a very good team now the same team is struggling for players. You should get you facts right before you post anything. I think I was close enough, thanks - 16s in 201...

I think he means Under 18s playing in club competition and U20s which in South Australia is the Reserves competition again at club level but has no age restriction on it unlike some other States.

Re: Has the FFA and FFSA made the right decisions?

It's about the pathway, and nothing but the pathway. Those players who miss the AIS/Joey boat can still develop through the U18 & U20 programs. If they come out the other end as a 20 y.o. and still aren't socceroo material, they either play A league to further their development towards being a s...

why don't the NTC/skiller-whatever girls teams play womens comp instead of playing against boys who won't play properly against them, and then the girls take cheap, unskilled, tackle shots, and whinge like crazy? Boys development don't want or need you?

Mate, get over who scores - it's a team game.

Please - lets not confuse the term scholarship with government hand-out. I think what toros is doing is admirable and partially contemptable. Croydon tried it, as have others, but Toros have continued to utilise the government $$$. It's not a training academy, they teach hygiene, australian cultural...

If you presume 2 will be relegated - could be 1 or 3? Maybe only 1 promoted from U14Bs? Never know how the 15As will be balanced in 2013. Does anyone know how U14A to U15A will work? I am assuming the skillaroo team from 2012 U14 will dispand and players return to their home clubs, while a new squa...

The hitler-esque plan is good. Make the seniors or you're off to the Russian front. And juniors must be awesome or join the reich youth and maybe be allowed to hold banners of support. Definitely a plan to drive youth out of the sport, and fringe seniors and reserves to alternate competitions (which...

Speaking of officials. I have to make comment on the young linesman at the U/19 Cobras V White City game today. Always alert, followed the last man perfectly, check the goals before the game & at 1/2 time & to top it off I think he got every decision correct & there were many offsides. ...

So where were the ground stewards for the offending teams/clubs? I thought FFSA requirements were that each team should have a person wearing the 'Ground Stewards' vest and making sure there own supporters/parents do the right thing. I've lost count this year the amount of times the opposition team...
