Re: Concussion
I've heard that in America, they take their concussions very seriously. It's an NCAA ruling that if any player suffers a knock to the head (and has symptoms of a concussion), they are taken from the game immediately and they will not take any further participation in the game. Prior to the season, e...

Re: Uni-Metro points and teamsheets
Judging by the comments to date, can anyone shed any light as to why there have been so many "errors" so far this season? I'm sure it is extremely rare that any team has deliberately cheated, to gain an advantage. Even with unregistered players - I thought there was some 3 game "gues...

What is happening to the women's game?
Not just locally, but even globally. Teams are folding left, right and centre in the premier league, Adelaide United were lucky to have a team last season, and globally; the WPS franchise has folded. Where to from here? What are the best options for the girls to succeed? By the looks of things, it's...

The way I see it, Uzunlar did two things wrong, Barbieri one and Foord potentially one. Uzunlar had the opportunity to immediately clear the ball, instead she allowed the ball to bounce and bouncing balls are always more dangerous. The second error is how she slowed down because she assumed Barbieri...

Re: Adelaide Airport Games of the Month Preview
Great article as it captures the importance of both games extremely well, however, the following statement is inaccurate, "The tie will also give Magic the chance to wrestle top spot from Adelaide City who are undefeated ..." If I recall correctly, Olympic defeated Adelaide City 4-1 in rou...

Re: Quigley's mid-season club switchup
Three weeks ago the Senior Men's Chairmans meeting was asked to allow her an exemption so she & one other girl could play in the Boys U/19's competition after telling us that she was way too good for the Women's Premier League & now she moves to the Women's State League. Something not right...

Re: Results 22nd May
If Cumby don't beat Olympic next week with Wallace out what was the point of bringing these players to the club. To finish third? Technically this would be an improvement of three positions on the ladder going by last year's results (you could argue it's four as there are now seven teams in the pre...

That's why Cumby won't be fielding their strongest team as I've heard most of the SASI players will actually be playing for SASI.Easy Tiger wrote:Tomorrow morning @ SASI

1-7
Another amazing scoreline, well done coach Failure and the rest of the girls.
Ruth Blackburn red carded, what for? Out of frustration I bet considering it was straight after they conceded four goals in a matter of 11 minutes.

Re: Elite Womens Football Program in SA
I have to agree with SAD GAL on this one. Having 12, 13, 14 year olds playing against full grown women is absurd. By playing at this level, the girls aren't fastracking their development as some would think, they're actually missing out on developing their skills. By playing against older women, the...

Re: Elite Womens Football Program in SA
Is that the reason? To win at all costs? Or are they setting a bench mark and enabling a comparison to be made between the best players in the state and those yet to be identified? It's easier to stand out when you're not competing against the best.

3-4 nil? I'm pretty sure the state team could easily have had two if not three goals. Regardless of the scoreline, United weren't as dominating as they should've been for a team heading into the W-league in just over a months time.

What's actually stopping you people from stepping up? Instead of having a whinge, be proactive not reactive. Don't wait for the FFSA to make the wrong decision and then complain, voice your opinion and be proactive - don't forget the people in charge are only human, they are entitled to make mistake...

17s game was very disappointing. both teams relying on booting it forward. cumberland defended with 10 men for the second half and scored a goal just before the end, but there was nothing standing out in the game. Are you sure you were watching the right game? I thought it was a woman's game :P :)

If you look at it from another point too, they may be even happy if you don't play club as there will be room for some new talent.. They won't lose you to the sport because you still play sasi and wleague, and they will create room for someone else who otherwise would not find space. I doubt they'd...

Who, in your opinion then, deserves the be 'in' the system but is not? The same system applies all the way up to national levels, why should it be any different locally? Everyone begins as a 'nobody' but it is up to them to create a player profile and become a 'somebody'. If a coach doesn't know who...
