Re: Ashes 2023

if Lyon is out for the rest of the game it will make it hard to take the remaining 16 wickets.
Game evenly poised - we need to come out and bowl well just like England did first session yesterday

Re: Lord Ian v chappell

Clear winner - Botham Botham tried to even say something nice. Chappell couldn't. My missus who doesn't follow cricket, or doesn't take sides in things like this said both seemed to be pig-headed egotists and acted like school yard sooks. Nil all draw for mine. Concensus at work seems to be a win f...

Re: Ashes 2023

Good day for Australia after being sent in to bat.
If they can push on today and get over 450 hopefully the bowlers can perform better than their English counterparts and really drive home the advantage.

Re: Ashes 2023

But do you think it means he's 'dominating' or 'bossing' the game? I think it means he's in control of the game for a small period but not in the way KP was gushing about. Side note GIAE - do you think having so many different plans for each batsman actually affected the way Anderson and Robinson bo...

Re: Ashes 2023

Couple of reflections now the dust has settled. Loved Ponting making KP look a right old numpty when discussing Joe Root. Why the press (both countries) are slamming Stokes and bazball yet in same breath saying how great it is for cricket etc. is mind-boggling. Yes Australia won............this tim...

Re: Ashes 2023

Come on then aussies. Defend those 2 claimed catches. Same old aussie, always cheating. The Marnus one I have no issue with - my belief is he did it to force the umpires to review it. He probably knew he didn't catch it clean but wanted to have it reviewed. Can understand your view of him 'cheating...

Re: Ashes 2023

Honours even after 2 days - first session tonight will be very crucial.
If Aussies can establish a first innings lead that could set them up for the rest of the test.
If England get quick wickets and bowl us out early in the day, then they'll be favourites to win

Re: Ashes 2023

I'll be honest I don't want this thread turning into 30 pages of stupid arguments trying to prove where someone may have lied or not answered a question, etc Let's just keep it to discussions about the actual cricket played and complaining when things don't go our way. That said, I'm pumped for Frid...

Was up at Angle Vale on the weekend as my lad was playing juniors. Really great complex they've built there. 2 footy ovals, full netball facilities, and 3 soccer pitches (1 for mini-roos) Put 7 past Rowe Park today and looked like they played 95% of the game in 2nd gear Number 4 for angle Vale look...

Re: What happened to this Forum.....?

Yeah, this was the kind of place people use to talk about things like Pirie being 3 wins from 3 and giving div 1 a nice rattle to start the season Legga was a big driver of it all and when Farm and Gardens were up and about there was a forumite or 2 from each of those clubs that would engage in the...

WTF is with the suspensions this round, not a good look which i get but how does McAdam get 3 yet Pickett only get 2  So now you will get rubbed out for intent, COME ON MAN If the AFL want to be serious about this issue - all 3 would have gotten 3+ weeks. Re: UEFA Europa League 22/23

I do wish they would get the shorter guys to take those pens. Taller ones like Martinelli are easier to read by goalies on which side the forward will aim for. Oh boy, this should be good. On what basis do you make that assertion? Are you saying that a team of midgets (goalkeeper aside) would never...

Arsenal leaving it VERY late to snatch 3 points yesterday.
VERY tight down in the bottom half of the table - 12th-placed Palace and bottom-placed Bournemouth only separated by 6 points!

Re: Australia v India

It's Australia's match to lose at this point - and it could very easily happen given how we've batted all series Reckon its almost line ball, but all we need is a few batsmen to make 20-odd and we should get up. After the last NZ/eng test going to the wire, wonder what the odds are on a tie? ;-) It...
