Re: Adelaide City Appoints Max Primaro as Head Coach
It’s about the depth of talent in the women’s competition. Unlike the men’s, if a group of talented and hardworking, aspirational players leave an NPL club it’s not easy to replace them. If a club mishandles its women’s program, it can go from top to bottom within a season. That’s why top quality fe...

Re: Adelaide City Appoints Max Primaro as Head Coach
Not sure that's what we're talking about here. And the City girls were not consulted regarding Max Primaro's appointment. They were not consulted, nor did anyone promise them they would be. Not sure where that rumour came from.

Brooks back with Reds for 2019/20 Adelaide United is thrilled to announce American defender, Amber Brooks, has re-signed with the Club for the Westfield W-League 2019/20 season. Brooks will re-join the Club from National Women’s Soccer League outfit, Houston Dash, following an outstanding first seas...

Re: AUWFC season 2019-2020
Latsko's transferred to Sydney FC. The 2 Finnish players and Amber Brooks are not coming back to the W League. That for me is a huge loss and says a lot about the W League??? I haven’t responded yet, but I will when it is appropriate to do so. All will be revealed. I don’t post rumours. And Gunny a...

I am very close to someone who was at said ‘meeting’. Coach was present. It was routine kit fittings and individual player meetings. Nothing nefarious or negative. All business as usual. Not sure where Sportsbird gets their information...

Re: AUWFC season 2019-2020
Indeed. Veronica didn't choose not to return, she was not resigned because she's still rehabbing an injury. And in the US, they bring players back more quickly, possibly increasing the likelihood if re-injury. So United gave it a pass. And given the signings they've made, I reckon it was a good deci...

Re: AUWFC season 2019-2020
So Ivan doesn’t sign injured players, (for which he’s been criticised) but then players pick up niggles or injuries in training or trial matches (which happens all the time btw) and he gets blamed- the guy can’t win. Sorry but it sounds like maybe people are looking for something to complain about? ...

Re: AUWFC season 2019-2020
Of the injuries/niggles I am aware of, only one existed prior to signing of a contract. All others happened after the players were contracted. So I’m not sure blaming Ivan for signing injured players is appropriate.

Re: sportsbird scorecard
There seems to be some confusion here- I’m all for different opinions and respectful disagreement. However I think what some on here object to is the presentation of gossip (information obtained from players, parent and supporters) as fact...that’s not stating an opinion, it’s spreading rumours. Mor...

Re: FFSA Presentation Night
I’m not sure that the refs are the best people to decide player of the year. After all, they are focused on reffing the games, not on how players are doing their jobs. And in the past, the winners of this award have tended to be the better players on mediocre teams. I would argue that City, and for ...

Re: AUWFC Captain Quits Lady Reds
Congratulations to all three players. A very exciting opportunity to begin the journey towards Olympic selection. But let's all remember it's a camp. They've been invited to camp. They're being given an opportunity to show what they've got in a camp setting so that Milicic can consider all of his op...

Re: AUWFC Captain Quits Lady Reds
Sportsbird- I’m curious as to how you can dismiss her public statements about why she left United as “political” and therefore not true, while you accept her public statements regarding why she went to City at face value. Seems a bit inconsistent.

Re: FFSA Bringing the game into disrepute
Secondly, the same club involved also was given the opportunity to play 3 international players in the cup final because there was a loophole. Completely unfair. The FFSA and the club involved should be ashamed of themselves for not playing in the spirit of the game. Sounds like you’re blaming the c...

Re: FFSA Bringing the game into disrepute
Sorry, the club didn’t do anything wrong. All they did was ask. And the player definitely didn’t do anything wrong. She’s been injured for the better part of 2 years and is trying to get fit, which is the purpose of the reserves, for players to work their way back into fitness and the first team aft...
