No McNamara for City- she's in Dubai with the Matildas. No Winnie Heatley either... could be an opportunity. I'm backing Adelaide 2-1

Re: Lisa De Vanna Unloads
No. There’s nothing nuanced about abuse. But we’ll have to agree to disagree here. I say the situation is complicated, you say it isn't. You seem to have more information than I do. Don't know who you are- maybe you were there. I wasn't. And I don't seem to have as much information as you do (regard...

Not sure I'm defending or supporting anyone here- just pointing out that it's an incredibly complicated and nuanced situation. Nothing about this is black and white.

Re: Lisa De Vanna Unloads
In this whole discourse, I'm not sure gender or sexuality matters, or at least they shouldn't. The whole "predatory lesbian" line is totally misogynistic. Predation is predation, and there's no room for it in the game, or society, anywhere. Listen to Tracey Holmes' podcast "The Ticket...

Re: Get Rid of Double Headers with men
My one concern with moving the WNPL games back to club venues is that men's clubs often short change their women's teams when it comes to putting on the matches. I've seen it several times and notified FSA...I was at one game where the women played second...change rooms were a mile away in what look...

Re: Matildas squad for Tokyo
I think that the increase in professionalisation of the game has also helped with the pathway. So many more opportunities now to play at a high level professionally than when SASI was around- there really wasn't anywhere to go...

Re: Matildas squad for Tokyo
I have read as well that FIFA has negotiated, or is in the process of negotiating, with the Olympics to make the standby players fully rostered...So Charlie may be a full member of the squad in the end.

Re: W league player rule
I don't think any other member federation has a restriction on the movement of W-League players.
And I don't think it's particularly good for elite player development for girls to stay in the NTC team past 17-

Re: W league player rule
According to FSA, "home grown" means having played for a club for one season prior to being signed by United- "home grown" does not mean the club where they started playing as a 10yo (or whatever). I am interested to know how the term is being defined here... what exactly is mean...

Re: Adelaide United Players Playing Interstate
Emily Hodgson is on the team sheet for West Adelaide this weekend- don't think she's left. And Sian is moving to Sydney for personal reasons I believe- has nothing to do with football. So really, only 3 players (Matilda, Izzy and Mel) left to play interstate- The other point that might be worth maki...

Re: Adelaide United Players Playing Interstate
Charlotte Grant is in Sweden, playing for FC Rosengard in Malmo. Not interstate. Well, kind of I guess. The gap between WNPL in South Australia and WLeague is just too big. Sportsbird, you can’t have your cake and eat it too. You want Adelaide United to be more competitive in the WLeague, to make fi...

Re: Dylan - selection to the Matildas
My initial post was to correct Sad Gal’s assertion that Dylan hadn’t been in the state program. She did start at 12- how much influence that year had, who knows. I was merely stating the fact of her participation. I think we digress...
