Re: WNPL ROUND 5
It's simply that often times people post sweeping generalisations on here without any factual support whatsoever and so the truth becomes what they say it is, no matter whether there is substantiation or not. I was just looking for some specific examples for the arguments being put forward on here. ...

Sad Gal, would you care to be more specific? Your comment was pretty vague. To the point that your comment doesn’t really mean anything.

Re: WNPL ROUND 1
Not sure you can tell much from the first round- except for maybe that Fulham will struggle and teams will run up the score against them for goal difference. City was playing only half of their starting 11... several other teams missing players as well. It will all get real in round 4...

Re: WNPL ROUND 1
Hard to know how the first three rounds will pan out without the W-League players- here are my predictions:
Metro 1 - City 2
Inter 2 - Uni 2
Fulham 0 - West Adelaide 3
Comets 2 - NTC 0
Metro 1 - City 2
Inter 2 - Uni 2
Fulham 0 - West Adelaide 3
Comets 2 - NTC 0

Re: Adel Utd Coach to be Offered Further Contract Extension
BTK- I agree. United needs to step up. Sportsbird- you have made two assertions repeatedly that are false, and I take issue with: 1- that Ivan never attends WNPL matches. I know this to be not true. I’ve seen him out there many times over the last few years. And with all the matches taped now, how d...

Re: Lady Reds - Wooden Spooners
Another waste of a season. Fold the AUFC Women's team and put more time/effort and resources into the Men's side of the game. Did you ever think, just for a minute, that a lack of time/effort/resources is why the women's program is struggling? So, rather than resourcing it properly, let's just chuc...

Re: Mitise PreSeason CUP round 2
Why should clubs be angered by Comets putting money into their roster? I understand that all-women's clubs, without a men's club's finances, will be challenged. But just as the men are paid reasonably, so should the women be. I say good for them. Different clubs have differing resources in men's soc...

Re: Head Coach Needs to Resign
I don't think S Bird has dropped a load on Ivan & Co and has provided his/her observations about the state of the team based on the results the least 2-3 seasons, the decision making of the coach pre-post-during the season re: players selections, player positions and tactics. I cannot argue. PM...

Re: AUWFC Vs Camberra
I disagree- as a keeper, where better to showcase your skills than Adelaide? She is doing a great job, has lots of opportunities to showcase her amazing skills. I don't think she's going anywhere. But who knows? Yesterday's result was indeed disappointing. Most probably won't make finals this year, ...

Re: Lady Reds In Disarray
Don’t put words in my mouth- I am just curious. And not willing to sift through your many posts for an answer. So answer my question, or don’t.
I don’t think the current elite programs are producing players who are ready for W-League. So maybe on this one point we agree.

Re: Lady Reds In Disarray
Sportsbird, which local WNPL players, currently not in the squad, do you feel have the skills and ability, and more importantly the desire, to play at W-league level? I’m curious.

Re: Lady Reds In Disarray
Sportsbird- implying that there is disunity within the squad is incorrect. Do players have opinions about how to improve the team's performances? Certainly. But they are not 'squabbling'. That's the sort of rumour mongering that people object to. Your opinions about things are yours, and that's fine...

Re: AUFC-W v Melbourne City
Blind faith or optimism? The women's game has had blind faith for too long. Faith in SASI, faith in NTC. Faith in a myriad of AUF-W iterations. The game and the players deserve better. I am a supporter of the women's game and my posts are balanced and objective and is lacking "hope/close enoug...

Re: AUFC-W v Melbourne City
Sad Gal- I’m not sure you can call yourself a supporter of women’s football, or a supporter of the W-League, if you haven’t watched any games. Moreover, offering an opinion about a team that you haven’t seen play is poor form. Those of us who are positive have seen them play. It’s not just because w...

Re: AUFC-W v Melbourne City
I agree with PM. They’ve just had three narrow losses to the top three teams in the competition. If you watched the games, you would have noticed that the girls were in it and pushing until the final whistle each time. Moreover, Melbourne City have 7 Matilda’s in their starting lineup with something...
