WNPL Finals
WOW what a brutal display of skill and class by Salisbury Inter. Well done to Simon C for taking this team to the finals in style. SI have played a total team game all year. the championship is there's to be gained. City v Westies will be a good game however, I cannot predict the outcome. Each team ...

Not good whichever way you look at it. Potentially damaging to the players involved. The game/team will always survive. Humanity never ceases to amaze me.

Re: Get Rid of Double Headers with men
Thanks for the reply.
Can't argue with your rationale.
I suppose we can use that with moist things in life, self sustain or perish. Survival of the fittest. Pay your own way. I'm still waiting to see that happen.

Re: Get Rid of Double Headers with men
Many good points win here. Really good. Whilst I think the idea was good I would prefer the arrangement to play at the Parks on Friday night with all games. As far as the cost to go in, a few weeks back I went to good old Adelaide City Park and the gatekeeper Charlie S was letting me get in without ...

Re: WNPL
The 2021 season has been interesting. A few rounds left and you'd think that anyone from below SI and WA are capable of making the top 4. will be a challenge for Uni, Comets, Metro and NTC however, the next few rounds until the season's end may see some movement up and down.

From my humble view any elite programme depends on whom is running it. Integrity and accountability is paramount to its success.
That's probably where I'd leave it.

Will be good to Sturt Lions return. Anyone from Cumberland that can provide us with some information about how they're tracking?
I agree, the pathways the WNPL are providing the players.

Re: WNPL/WSL Pro/Rel
Good discussion. Agree with everyone. Consensus seems to be expand the WNPL. Give teams/clubs time to strengthen before relegation/promotion kicks in. Agree. Time to get this game promoted to the masses whom were engaged with the Olympics and the world cup. Many people watched women's football and a...

Agreed. Unless you're in that position don't criticise. Was he (and other) the right player to take the penalty? The manager and his team mates thought so. Imagine being a keeper? He's the only one there. Last line of defence.

Re: Matildas squad for Tokyo
Congrats to Charli. Well deserved and to the NTC programme for delivering. I agree that the professional pathways are there. I suspect they were always there it was just that the players had to decide whether to take the risk and pursue a career that may be risky (financially or career). Thankfully ...

Re: Newcastle vs Adelaide United
I think he anomaly is that season 2020/2021 has given local players greater opportunity to play and to shine. In the past this has been very hard due to the overseas and matildas (and interstate players) taking up many of the spots. What we are seeing now is the real talent this state has week in we...

Well done on your excellent career move Dylan. I hope the Swedes have improved their attitude and community responses to Covid-19. I am certain that as an Australian you will lighten them. You had an excellent season in the WNPL and the W League and this opportunity has come about because of that. I...

AUFC-W v WSW
I watched the second half and our AUFC-W players showed immense commitment and tenacity. They probably started a little slower than WSW in the second half however, started to build and continued to attack. Many chances could have gone our way however, I like what I saw. Everyone played their parts. ...

Re: AUFC-W
Spot on with your comments. It's not easy being a parent. You can get caught up in the negativity and (my view) nastiness of the game. Let the players play. Let them do what they love. Most of the players are friends and know each other. We on the sidelines need to applaud the game and encourage. Fo...

Excellent comment Dragon and Paul M. we need to celebrate and look forward not backwards. Sadly it's an australian trait. The yanks trumpet every success and laud their people like no other. That's one of the things I like about the USA.

Shhhhhhh. Not to say he didn't have anything constructive to say however, you need to give praise and support when it's needed. The players, and coaches deserve it. Look at the praise and exposure the inferior AFL-W gets. Women's football (soccer) is s superior game played by exceptionally talented ...

The AU's season is moving as I had hoped. Proud of our team. Proud of our performances. After a 1st round loss, we have done very well. Keep it going team (and coaches) and 2020/2021 will be a year to remember.

Re: Coaching Movements
Sad news for Tony M. He did a lot of work in the lead up to Comets promotion to the WNPL. They have been very competitive (albeit the results do not reflect) and hopefully whom ever takes over can get the team to be even better in 2021. John P is a good communicator and has a passion for the women's...

I don't know Tiarn well however, it can only be a plus for a well established and credentialed WNPL player to take on a role with a crucial age group. I wish her well. Majority of trials will be more for reserves players. My mail is City will give the role to Tiarn Powell Tiarn is coaching FSA Under...

FSA Celebration of Football
Hats off to the FSA for organising the virtual event. First time they've had to do this and I reckon it went well. Tom and Jarrod were excellent. The interviews of the major award winners were excellent too. The countdowns and round by round voting and highlights were also on par. Congratulations to...

Thought I'd review my post. And the ensuing comment. The street fighter did win. I rate Chrissy big time and when she's back in the line up in 2021 I expect Chrissy to hit the ground running and contribute to the team. My money is on the street fighter metro. Big call but on what I've seen this seas...

Post and off season rumblings
Lot's happening in the off season (just ended last Friday). Will be interesting to see: 1) Where COTE plays next season? 2) If Tracey is actually appointed to the west adelaide job? 3) Will there be a mass exodus from Salisbury to.............(fill in the gaps) 4) Whom will take on the Salisbury job...

Re: WNPL Grand Final 2020

Did that account for their loss Friday night or was the opposition playing a tough style of football that come from the 2 previous do or die...

Thank you Scar, I do my best. It was a brilliant night and as biased as I am (as a dad of a metro player, I will thank City for driving metro to be the best and to take our A game to the final last night. WNPL Grand Final 2020
Why a year its been for us all and for the WNPL and the women's comp generally. So Friday night we have the grand final between 2018 finalists Adelaide City and Metro United. It will be another great game between these two highly competitive teams. In 2018 Metro finished top however, lost the final ...
