Ferguson sacked!
Ian Ferguson, son of Alex has been sacked by Preston North End after failing to win enough games - he only won 13 of 49 since taking over at Deepdale almost a year ago to the day.
Also Brian Laws has been sacked by Burnley for failing to get the team into a play-off position.

Holloway speaks out
Holloway loving challenge Blackpool manager Ian Holloway will head into 2011 determined to carry on enjoying himself. The promoted Seasiders have defied all pre-season predictions to more than make a good fist of life in the Barclays Premier League, and will end 2010 comfortably in the top half of t...

Congrats to Indonesia.
An old mate of mine has been a part of their coaching development team for some years now and he thinks they will become much stronger over the next five years.

Re: Sunderland 0 - Blackpool 2
I think Sunderland's problem was that with Blackpool playing an all out attacking game and not bringing players back to defend, this created so much space and time for the Black Cat's forwards that they lost concentration. Either that or they got acrophobia with the amount of room they had. :l...

Sunderland 0 - Blackpool 2
Blackpool pulled of another amazing away victory at the Stadium of Light by beating the Black Cats by 2 goals to nil with DJ Campbell scoring both goals. Ian Holloway, Blackpool's manage, was seen dancing along the touchline when Campbell hammered in the 2nd goal. What a pity that "The World ga...

Re: Blatter moves the goal-posts (timing of World Cup)
I cannot see the big European clubs and their associations agreeing to this.
They will probably organise a boycott of the tournament or withdraw from FIFA - or at least threaten to.

He changed the face of football tactics, particularly in Europe but never really received the plaudits he deserved from the "experts".
I always admired his attitude towards the game and his rapport with his players.
Vale.

Local Blackburn paper shop has one of those news boards outside, says on it ‘Rovers

When I went in, on the counter was the local free paper, with a big ad on
half the front page “Chicken breasts two for £5”

I think this statement will do more to end the reign of Blatter and co than anything else that has happened. Upsetting the Gay community has been the end of many a political career around the world and if they get angry with Blatter it will be the end of him too. Send a copy of this article to any g...

Re: Liverpool face £1bn court battle
The reality is that neither club is in debt from it's own actions.
The debts of both are entirely down to the owners using them as a tax and debt dodge.
Both clubs actually are very profitable on their own.

I've seen better 'RIOTS" at Hindmarsh when the old Adelaide City Juventus v West Adelaide Hellas games were played. I still remember fondly when Channel 7 News reported a "riot at Hindmarsh stadium" when two old ACJ & WAH fans had an argument in the Easter stand. They were at oppo...

Re: russia + qatar
The TV coverage is going to be pretty boring at Qatar as well. There'll be no cameras panning the crowd looking for the sexily/revealingly dressed women in the stands. They'll all have to dress "modestly" (meaning covered from head to foot) and be "restrained" (meaning no jumping...

Bad weather nothing new
The "Arctic conditions" hitting the UK and Europe and threatening the cancellation of many matches are nothing new, as the following report reveals. The winter of 1962-63 was extremely harsh, and Blackpool suffered more than most as their pitch completely froze over to the point where they...

Re: The word game's a perfect fit for world trade
After listening to the BBC World Service coverage last night I have started to worry that we aren't even in the race for 2022. When talking about the who is likely to get the 2018 & 2022 cups, the panel of "experts" never even mentioned Australia's bid. They were all of the opinion tha...
