Another higher division side defects

Post by redfred »

Pontian Eagles have moved across to the FFSA.

Will they try and keep SAASL?

Looks like 3 up from lower divisions.

Interesting trend where teams who don't quite make it then move to the State League, doesn't look like the teams that have done this have moved forward much but they were by definition going backwards so didn't have much to lose

Pontian were relegated from Sunday Div 1 - to State League 2 - seriously how does that work?

Comets - top 4 NPL
Metro Stars - NPL
Fulham - State League 1
Modbury Vista - TBF have been average during their FFSA Tenure, but $3 million bucks for new facilities and a potential though realistic slight movement in table posiotion 2020.

Vista and Fulham would have lost juniors year after year to their neighbouring FFSA clubs, this shouldn;t happen to much now so big win for the hard work their junior club coaches do.
More likely to receive larger grants.
I'd be surprised if these clubs would be dissapointed with the move.

Seems fair, similar standard but no relegation

Does anyone know what side from Div 3 will be going up to Div 2? I am hearing that 4 teams are going up from division 4?

I have heard Great Wall want to stay in Div 3. I wonder if it will even be possible to have four division 4 teams coming up, as there would not be enough teams to make up the division
