Do you reckon the players and managers were any better in the 60s & 70s, or is it a product of the refs and their masters 'enabling' the cheating by failing to do their job correctly, trying to it into a non contact sport?

My honest opinion I reckon everyone has to hold their hand up, ultimately it’s down to the FA though. There was always deviousness but it seems the lunatics are increasingly taking control of the asylum. The FA doesn’t put the integrity of the game first and foremost, they make feeble attempts to clamp down but never back the refs. Then the refs allow the players and managers to referee the game to a large extent, TV over analyses any mistake (and there will always be mistakes), the supporters turn a blind eye when their team benefits. For me it’s really not entertaining watching the players take control, credit to the AFL on this they jump on anything that challenges the integrity of their game straight away and I actually prefer that now to much of the EPL stuff.

unfortunately the game is not as manly as it was once was. too many actors and divers in squads these days. only the coaches can stop it and they will have to be forced to do so. solution, fifa must allow refs to red card divers etc early on in the game, no coach wants to lose players early in the game so the coaches will stop it quicksmart with no benefit to them and they will soon catch on as long as fifa is dinkum about wanting to stop the diving, acting shirt pulling etc. but are they :?: . perhaps they like it this way. i bloody well dont.

So your saying in the above example Cucurella dived by putting his hair in the Spurs players hand. He should have been sent off.

Had Cucurella not been clambering all over him in the first place, Romero wouldn't have needed to throw him to one side. The accidental grab on his curly locks wouldn't have happened if the ref had blown for the penalty to Romero first.

If the ref had called a pen for that, they would be calling 10 a game Cyril

Surprise at OT, but good for the league I think. United looked much stronger at the back with more pace, having dropped Shaw and Slabhead, where Liverpool looked a bit sluggish overall. Starting with Milner, Henderson and Elliott didn't really work and that seemed to put pressure on Trent and Robertson to stay deeper.

About time a coach at Man U exerted their authority....benching both Maguire and Ronaldo who by all accounts are the cause of the rift in the dressing room....

Chelsea making some dumb signings. Too much money. That's what you get with a Yank in charge of recruiting. Also looking for Aba from Barcelona.
To me Cucurella looks very average. What did they see in him.

Ooops!
Arsenal are placed on a UEFA watchlist with Barcelona and PSG for potentially breaching Financial Fair Play rules... after the Gunners reported staggering £213MILLION losses over the past three years

Arsenal have reported losses of £213m over the last three years, while UEFA rules only allow €30m (£25m) over this period.
Some people are calling for a points deduction and relegation to the Championship

Ok, that's just me, but I'm emailing UEFA this morning ;-)

i thought this witty enough to share.....
◾️ Darwin Nunez: Banned for 3 matches ❌
◾️ Roberto Firmino: Injured ❌
◾️ Diogo Jota: Injured ❌
This means that in the match against Manchester United, Liverpool will only be able to depend on Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Harry Maguire
didnt eventuate but funny nonetheless.....

Nah no interest Cyril, as I've said our squad wasn't good enough to compete in the UCL week in week out - yet! However you enjoy laughing all the way there & on your way home with your tails between your legs ready to play Thursday night football next year 😉

Haaland is big, strong, quick and good in the air and he's got KDB, Silva and Foden supplying the bullets. His lack of a right foot might cost him a few but he was always going to score loads, Bournemouth are appalling and will be returning to the Championship and Arsenal got lucky again with a deflected shot and a foul on the keeper.

I wasn't that impressed by his keepy uppy skills tbh, but if he can play passes like the one Harry scored from, he'll do for us.

I did notice that your defence got monstered by Mitro and you were very lucky to get more than a draw. ;-)

I wonder whether Aubameyang will be as lazy at Chelsea as he was at the Goons. Barca must be laughing at Arsenal, they got him for sweet FA and are selling him for £12 million plus Alonso.

Early days, but who's looking like relegation candidates?

Bournemouth are diabolical so anybody who loses to them must be in the conversation, Villa are in trouble I think and the third spot will be either Forest or Brentford.
