Re: England Squad
Anybody who picks Maguire over Braithwaite, or Gallagher over Wharton, doesn't really inspire me. Southgate the Second until proven otherwise. The only good thing is that Bellingham is missing, so we might get to see some midfield passing instead of running for the sake of it.ozzie owl wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 11:24 am First Squad under Caretaker Manager Carsley

Re: England Squad
No service at all to Kane, but Rice looks a much better player without Bellingham.

Re: England Squad
Maguire is rubbish. And Grealish is just a poor man’s version of Saka, so predictable coming inside off the left. And untidy with socks at half-mast with kid-size shinpads. Dunno what master Manager Pep sees in him.haywood djablowme wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 7:08 pm Any squad with no Spurs is a good squad

ps, what’s this about Carsley not singing “God Save The King”? Hasn’t he seen how other Managers and players belt out their anthem with real gusto?
pps Cyril, you would have noted the Arsenal skipper is injured and in doubt for the derby at 10.30pm Adelaide time this Sunday night?

Grealish played as a number 10 v Ireland with Gordon wide on the left.Con M wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 12:42 pmMaguire is rubbish. Sorry Owl, you’re right about the recent game where Grealish played.ozzie owl wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 1:58 pmGrealish played as a number 10 v Ireland with Gordon wide on the left.Con M wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 12:42 pmMaguire is rubbish. I was thinking of where the departed Manager (Gareth something
...what’s his name?) usually played him - on the left, just as master Manager Pep usually plays him.

Surely time for England to play Palmer as the number 10.Con M wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 6:23 pmSorry Owl, you’re right about the recent game where Grealish played.ozzie owl wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 1:58 pmGrealish played as a number 10 v Ireland with Gordon wide on the left.Con M wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 12:42 pmMaguire is rubbish. England has plenty of choices for midfield and attack however in defense options are limited due to injuries and lack of game time for some players.

Re: England Squad
Personally, much as I rate Kane, he's not going to be around for much longer at International level, so why not start now and put Foden and Palmer in tandem up front with Saka right and Gordon or Eze on the left?
Personally, I'd pick Wharton in the middle over some of the others, but I suspect we'll end up with Bellingham.
