Playing Collegiate Clubs in friendlies
Just been informed that the SAASL will not be covering the Collegiate clubs in the friendlies this season
So the clubs that have arranged friendlies with them may find they could be cancelled

Re: Playing Collegiate Clubs in friendlies
this happens every year.
Not sure on the insurance side, but get your own ref and play the game anyway.

i agree GIAE but when the collegiate side is not sure of playing cos they are not covered makes it interesting

Re: Playing Collegiate Clubs in friendlies
SAASL club has insurance. CSL Club has insurance.
But when these 2 play against other no one is covered.
Insurnace companies making money or FFSA and SAASL making things difficult.
Games happen every year and will continue to do so.

Re: Playing Collegiate Clubs in friendlies
Can someone correct me if I am wrong but the SAASL Accident Fund is not underpinned by an Insurance Company.
Nevertheless why would any organisation cover indiviudals not under their umbrella.
We were to have a game with a Collegiate side who pulled out apparently due to lack of cover. If that is the case, then fair enough.

First point is correct, SAASL Accident Fund is self-funded.Paleon Patros Germanos wrote:Can someone correct me if I am wrong but the SAASL Accident Fund is not underpinned by an Insurance Company.

I don't think the SAASL has ever covered the collegiate team in Amateur vs Collegiate game, just the Amateur team.

unless I'm mistaken that's exactly what bloodypassit is saying, one team is covered - the other isn't.
Re: Playing Collegiate Clubs in friendlies
Its a pain in the ass because of bickering between both leagues.

His original comment was 'this season'. My thinking was he was implying that in past seasons both teams have been covered.God is an Englishman wrote:unless I'm mistaken that's exactly what bloodypassit is saying, one team is covered - the other isn't.
My understanding was that they have never been covered.

This arrangement has been like this for years.
