Rebecca Lawrence Shield Sat 24/3

Post by Statto11 »

This Saturday 24th of March Modbury Jets & Para Hills East will have the annual "Rebecca Lawrence Shield" pre-season match at Jets Ground on Ladywood Road.

Games will be played between the three grades A's, B's & C's starting from 11.00am.

This is a special event that we hold to honour the memory of Rebecca, a much loved person who had close affiliations with both clubs.

Its also a day which helps raise money for the Heart Foundation.

Everybody is welcome to come along and support this very worthy cause, whilst being entertained by two great local rivals.

4th year of this special day 8)

Food: Charcoal BBQ by Alberto's Charcoal Catering who specialise in on-site charcoal barbecuing, using secret marinades and spices to give the meat a delicious distinct 'Alberto's' taste. They use only the finest cuts of meat cooked over the unmistakable flavour of charcoal)

Drinks: Full bar facilities are available with plenty of range.

Fundraising: There will be raffles and other events (percentage of the bar taken on the day) to help raise money for the Heart Foundation.

Once again it was a great day, thanks and congratulations to all 3 teams at PHE and fingers crossed you can get your O35 boys organised ready for another roll of the dice this season.
After looking gloomy in the morning, the weather turned for the better, the food was awesome and some excellent football played by both teams in the A and B games, with a decent crowd and a lot of money raised for charity yet again = Success!
oh,... anybody notice our pitch? 8)
