Decent game up at Uley road today, Munno Para really took the game to Villa getting two well worked goals and should have had 3 more. Villa resorted to the long ball game and struggled to break through but scored from a penalty right towards the end of the first half.
Second half was fairly even then Villa scored to equalize with about 15 to play.
A defensive error let Para in to score the third with 10 to play and we hung on tight to win it despite some late pressure.

good game to play in and just proves upsets happen.
good luck to the villa lads for the rest of the season

Raptors 0 - Easties 2
We had plenty of chances which was great. Didn't take enough of them & this kept them in it.
Fair play to raptors, they had a decent crack.
We are just happy to get into the next round & take a winning form into next week. Hopefully we can welcome back some of the injured too.

OISC Goals: M.Dunstan; J.Covino

Angle Vale unlucky, great game unfortunatley spoilt by a referees non decision on a handball that led to Iggy's equalizing but good luck to Iggy's for rest of the year.

Played 2 Saturday teams on the weekend and although we won both games comfortably, I'm not going to start the whole who's better thread

I must say though having also played St Peters and Modbury Jets last year, Sunday teams seem far more social, not one player came into the bar after the games yesterday, both teams had no supporters etc - when we played St Peters last year, they even ran out of beer before halftime

So when it's comes to atmosphere at clubs, Sunday wins hands down

I'm going to make some excuses for Jets here if they didn't come into the bar afterwards (which does surprise me a lot). We have a pretty good support base (mainly for home games though) but we were stretched that day with the reserves playing in Tea Tree Gully, the first team in noarlunga and our O35's somewhere else.

I can only assume that losing on penalties with a 2 hour drive home meant beer probably wasn't on people's minds.

Hopefully one day we get to play you on a saturday so you can see that whilst we do not compete with the big sunday clubs for atmosphere, we're not far off.

Stirling were very upset, especially the coach

I think most teams that have played us have suggested the games were far more competitive than the results suggested

Given the fact that we have 8 new First Team players this year - our coach said at the begining of the year, it would take 5 'real' matches to gel

Ironically this was our 5th - 'real match'

I think catering to the opposition after the match is something us Saturday clubs could/should do a lot better.

We played a Sunday side at home for the cup and decided to put on a feed afterwards for them and they well and truly re payed us
in bar takings, conversation and atmosphere in the rooms afterwards.

I think it would build a stronger Saturday comp relationship wise as well.

Hi Hawkesy!!

We will have the bar fully stocked and the charcoal bbq going all day long on Saturday... We have a good following also, at home especially so this should make for a good atmosphere down at the club Saturday. After resting 90% of our first team yesterday against Vista, we are ready to go!!!

Blue Eagles 0 V Ingle Farm 4
Great effort by our guys today in the first half. They were switched on from the first minute and we very weary about the last two years results. We scored very early and never took the foot off the pedal. Goals in the 25th and 42 mintues also. I thought we passed a lot better today and had much better movement. Blue Eagles were good on the ball but did make some silly turnovers and didn't have the pace to chase back.
Second half was a pretty ugly sort of half. We scored around 10 mins in which took the sting out of the game for both teams. Blue Eagles were very physical and battled hard but just couldn't find a way to create some good quality chances.
Big game at home against Grove this week and its points that we badly need.

35's had a loss to TTG 3-1 and our girls were fantastic against Inter winning 4-0.

Rumours going around that Danny Hain and Sean Brennan have signed for the Downs

I must say that Vipers went above and beyond on Saturday.

Kudos for opening up the big sliding doors and putting on a really great spread of food (sausages, shashlicks and chicken wings). The good thing about our guys, is we will stick around for a drink and we are definitely prepared to contribute financially (we are happy to drink your fridge dry!!!)

Our couch and committee have made it clear for the "social aspect" to be implemented for all home and away games. All clubs rely on revenue from catering, so all clubs should respect this. I dont give a rats if your team manager is the best in the league by filling up eskies. A better team manager would say.. ok boys here is $50 go spend it at the club's bar/BBQ.

You only need a couple of clubs doing this, then others will out of spite... which sets a really nasty and dangerous standard (which is counter productive).

On another note, I was duly impressed with the facilities at Viperville. The facilities are St Claire are second to none. very large, spacious, clean and the bathroom/shower facilities are also second to none. The additional practice pitches made me very envious

Something definitely going on the right track at Viperville!

Hospitality also sensational... well done to the Viper committee and volunteers - Teams should really take a leaf out of their book.

Good effort by the Farm in what loomed as a tough draw.

Maybe they are back on track for this season - next few weeks will be interesting in Div 1.
