We played a Sunday side at home for the cup and decided to put on a feed afterwards for them and they well and truly re payed us
in bar takings, conversation and atmosphere in the rooms afterwards.
I think it would build a stronger Saturday comp relationship wise as well.
I must say that Vipers went above and beyond on Saturday.
Kudos for opening up the big sliding doors and putting on a really great spread of food (sausages, shashlicks and chicken wings). The good thing about our guys, is we will stick around for a drink and we are definitely prepared to contribute financially (we are happy to drink your fridge dry!!!)
Our couch and committee have made it clear for the "social aspect" to be implemented for all home and away games. All clubs rely on revenue from catering, so all clubs should respect this. I dont give a rats if your team manager is the best in the league by filling up eskies. A better team manager would say.. ok boys here is $50 go spend it at the club's bar/BBQ.
You only need a couple of clubs doing this, then others will out of spite... which sets a really nasty and dangerous standard (which is counter productive).
On another note, I was duly impressed with the facilities at Viperville. The facilities are St Claire are second to none. very large, spacious, clean and the bathroom/shower facilities are also second to none. The additional practice pitches made me very envious
Something definitely going on the right track at Viperville!
Hospitality also sensational... well done to the Viper committee and volunteers - Teams should really take a leaf out of their book.
