Thanks Hawkesy...was getting around to it! :D

debated whether to put it up because of the name but thought a) different surname b) you'd opened the door for a google search anyway.

Let me know the next time he's racing local and I'll see if me and the boy can pop along and cheer him on.

People might not have been in every race would be one VERY SIMPLE explanation

what good are these point standings then and how many points do u get for coming 1st 2nd 3rd up to 8th ? surely the blokes who got first up to 5th would have got more points in just one race than coming 8th and a last.

well if u cant answer the question what does that make u ? i see it as a valid question based on simple maths and not trying to be a smartarse just cant see how after coming 8th and last out of 11 in two races that he would be 5th on points

It's not just based on those two races. He also raced in Tasmania, so those 3 races at that meet count too.
Other drivers also have raced at Bathurst so they have points from that meet also.

When I get home I'll get the actual points from every race for you so then you can see how it works...too hard to do at work (when I'm trying to look like I'm supervising children! )

all good but in one of your posts you said he only did two races but now u said he raced elsewhere so it makes sense now. if u read it back u will understand my confusion hopefully as it was based on logical maths

I believe there is more than 2 races per round. I think Redson Senior has been in 5 races.

OK...so far there have been 4 rounds (I forgot Clipsal!), each round holding 3 races, therefore so far 12 races.

Mike missed Clipsal and Bathurst, so 6 races for him.

This is how the points are decided:
2012 F3ADC CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS SYSTEM:

Pole Position: 1 Point
Sprint Races: 12 points for win, then 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 for 10th place. Combined points (shown above) from sprints ('SR') set feature race ('FR') grid.
Feature Race: 20 Points for win, followed by 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, and 1 for 10th place.
Fastest Laps: 1 Bonus Point per race.
The points table:
Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Round 4
Drivers Name SR / FR SR / FR SR / FR SR / FR Total
Hayden Cooper 21/20 20/16 17/15 17/12 138
Ben Gersekowski 23/1 9/12 22/21 19/15 122
Adrian Cottrell 1/15 18/20 22/12 88
Lockie Marshall 23/21 44
Mike Wayne 15/10 16/0 41
Chris Slusarski 16/12 28
Nathan Gotch 14/10 24
Not sure what "Gold Star" points are, but he's up there on those too:

Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Round 4 Round 5 Round 6 Round 7 Round 8
Drivers Name SR / FR SR / FR SR / FR SR / FR SR / FR SR / FR SR / FR SR / FR Total
James Winslow 26/20 25/20 22/20 18/8 159
Chris Gilmour 16/12 15/15 17/16 20/16 127
John Magro 11/4 11/13 8/0 21/20 88
Jordan Skinner 14/8 14/10 12/3 11/4 76
Steel Guiliana 3/2 16/8 3/6 12/12 62
Ben Gersekowski 9/0 9/3 11/10 5/3 50
Hayden Cooper 4/10 9/4 8/8 4/2 49
Mathew Sofi 19/16 35
Adrian Cottrell 0/6 5/6 11/4 32
Nick Foster 16/12 28
Cameron Waters 15/10 25
Mike Wayne 6/2 4/10 22
Lockie Marshall 7/6 13
Chris Vlok 9/0 9
Nathan Gotch 6/0 6
Chris Slusarski 3/3 6
Jon Mills 3/0 3
And just to scare his mum first thing in the morning, he sent me this:

Hmmm.
No I don't get scared watching someone race a car around a track.
I get scared watching My son race a car around a track.

I'm sure the likes of Hewitts or Tigers mums don't have quite the concern of a race drivers mum has when they head out to play their sport. But then, make a .05mm mistake in tennis and it's hardly likely to be fatal is it? :?

Don't you still get excited watching a Millwall game replay even when you know they're going to win?

50 microns?? that is a bit farfetched redmum.

to put things into perspective, a grain of sand is about 100 microns

you are no longer qualified to comment logically in this topic as emotion is clearly clouding your ability to have a rational debate

Wow back to reality after a weekend of racing!

Fending off all the girls wanting a photo with my son!!

A frustrating weekend for him with engine problems meaning he wasn't racing as well as he hoped, but he's still up at 6th...and his teammate winning the championship.

Go R Tek racing!!!! :D
