David Hussey isn't certain England's batsmen are going to like what they see following Cummins' blistering performance in Australia's 179-run one-day win over Essex.
"He was very impressive," Hussey said.
".............hopefully that sends a few shudders through the English camp."
Injury-prone teenager Pat Cummins' one-day tour of the United Kingdom has come to a premature end because of a side strain injury.
The tour was viewed as an excellent chance for Cummins to gain experience before Australia return for next year's Ashes series.
But his opportunities have been cut short because of the injury picked up during the touring side's 15-run loss to England in the series opener at Lord's.
Had to chuckle when I saw both Lee and Watson break down...........AGAIN! More injuries in that team than at the local hospital. Maybe AU assistants were their "conditioning" coaches?

What, are we pulling the 2002 ashes players out of retirement?
Mitchell Johnson's whinge in the paper yesterday was the final straw for me....Bunch of tattooed sooks
How Johnson was even selected is beyond me. No form before 12 months off injuried, no real form after the injury and straight back into the team? To me, he is completely shot as a cricketer and unless he can have a good year of first class form, he shouldn't ever be recalled to the team.

Its in decline but lets be honest, we couldn't go any higher. England have improved no doubt and we have some promising youngsters. What I don't understand is why we even played this series and why we wouldn't use the chance to play a lot of young guys. Why even worry about sending Brett Lee there, Hussey etc? Give Cummins, Ferguson, Warner etc a chance to play in England against one of the worlds best and see how they cope

Agreed, although Warner and Cummins went didnt they? But yes, the old blokes need to be shown the door - they are hardly going to win Australia the ashes next year.

They did but my point was, why not use a completely useless, uninteresting series to blood some players and see if they can perform. My point was that Cummins and Warner should be in that team but Lee, Watson, Hussey etc shouldn't.
Good to see the Aussies get up and beat Pakistan in the one-dayers in Asia, something England cant seem to ever do.
I notice we are only one point behind England in the test rankings too and we havent even done that much lately.
How quickly the "mighty" are falling!

still plenty of young kids watching/playing the game. My son's school have even put a team of 8 years old into the Under 11's league as they were keen to start playing game already.
