Game 5 Result: Sydney Cobras 6 - 3 Adelaide Fusion
SCFC: G. Di Mento 2, D. Arcella 1, N. Rouco 1, P. Pace 1, W. Donato 1
AFFC: K. Francis 2, S. Piotto 1, J. Noel 1

AFFC: R. Frisina 1, P. Mitris 1
PVFC: J. Da Silva 3, S. Soufi 2, J. Portillo 1, M. Barbosa 1
After coming out of the group stages as the only team not to register a point, the Adelaide Fusion were always going to be up against it as they took on a red-hot Pascoe Vale FC. Leading 4-1 at half time, Pascoe Vale never really looked in
danger of missing out on the semis - although Adelaide had their tails up once they scored to make it 4-2. The Fusion could have been further embarrassed on the scoreboard if not for keeper Anthony Capaldi who saved two penalties! It was the perfect game for Pascoe Vale who used their large playing roster to their advantage, keeping their key players fresh on the bench for a do-or-die semi final encounter with Queensland at 3pm! A game not to be missed!!!!!!
Although not a successful tournament results wise, Adelaide Fusion players, staff and committee members have taken a lot out of this tournament and earnt a lot of respect from other Futsal Clubs in Australia. We found it difficult to adapt to the court size and how physical the game was. Although our last game was a loss we started to hit our straps and only missed out by not putting chances away that the eventual champions did. We stepped up our physical presence and it started to pay dividends and we were able to play our game more as the tournament progressed. A lot of tackles are let go interstate and let the game flow making it more physical and entertaining to watch. A lot of the players in the tournament also play for their respective state teams in the FFA Nationals. All of the ones that we spoke to commented that this was a step up from the FFA Nationals in skill level and intensity. Just to give you a guide of the standard that was playing.
Adelaide Fusion hope to bring this intensity, pace and physical presence to the game back home so that we can provide a more entertaining brand of futsal to watch.
We would like to thank Peter Parthimos and Futsal Oz for inviting us to play and provide a very professional and well run tournament. We have been invited to play in the competition next year, now that we know what we are up against hopefully we can improve our results and the way we play.

Re: Futsal OZ Australian Futsal League (FAFL)
Not the result you would have wanted, but at least you went over and gave it a shot.
The fact that you were invited back for next year must be a big positive.
Keep up the good work!

Time for some righteous indignation

Last time I checked it's not an AUFC supporters only forum
So no need to tell them to 'F OFF'

Here is the final of the FAFL Cup between Pascoe Vale and WA SFL 5.
If you have the time watch this game because it was played at a very high standard. Both teams had already played 2 games before in the space of 6 hours so a credit to their fitness.
