Europa League Pots

Post by ruud »

Considering Ajax's luck in draws, I expect us to draw Chelsea
Pot 1:
Chelsea
CFR Cluj
Olympiakos Piraeus
Benfica
Victoria Plzen
Fenerbahçe
Girondins de Bordeaux
Liverpool
Steaua Boekarest
Dnjepr Dnjepropetrovsk
Racing Genk
Roebin Kazan
Hannover 96
Olympique Lyon
Lazio
Metalist Kharkiv

Pot 2:
Ajax
Zenit Sint-Petersburg
Bate Borisov
Dynamo Kiev
Atlético Madrid
Borussia Mönchengladbach
Newcastle United
Anzhi Makhachkala
VfB Stuttgart
Napoli
FC Basel
Internazionale
Sparta Praag
Tottenham Hotspur
Bayer Leverkusen
Levante

Knowing our luck we'll somehow get Barcelona :P

I'd like to see us not get Atletico, that's about it.

20th if December is the draw but I'm unsure about playing teams from the same country for the next round.

No clubs from same country can play each other next round also can't be drawn against team from same group.
ie, Liverpool avoid Anzhi, Newcastle and Spurs from pot 2.

I was laughing at your uncanny ability to predict the future

Unless you're Sepp Blatter in disguise.

No hate the old codger & his gallic twat Platini.
Just thought that if we were to play a team that tries to play attractive passing football, it would be an exciting tie, spurs don't have far to travel & both teams have a good chance to progress.
Better than getting Bate Borisov , Dnipro or Cluj...wee bit chilly over there & have lumps kicked out of you!

Very true, not good places to go at this time of year.

It's highly unlikely both will progress.

Obviously only one will progress captain flog....but either can progress further with probably Inter in the next round.
Both Lyon & Spurs are good quality & half a chance in this comp.
