Biggest choke in history...

Post by Rookie »

surely this now goes to the Kiwis after being 8-1 up in the America's cup only to go down 9-8?

I couldnt believe how fast those Boats go, i saw it for the first time on the news last night and they were flying, they said they reached speeds of up to 80k's an hour.

PS Also i am not sure the actual American team had any American's onboard, the skipper was an Aussie.

PPS do you believe it's 30 years today that the mighty Aussie's broke the biggest winning streak ever, my how time flys by when you are having fun.

6 Aussies on the boat, including the skipper. Perhaps they are entitled to Yankee passports?

Funny how this wasn't reported in the Australian media when they were 8-1 down.
Seems a bit like Australia never had a problem with Pietersen and Trott-like qualification until they were getting beat.
How are Khawaja and Fawed Ahmad getting on anyway?>

How can being outplayed be referred to as a "choke"? It's not like they still needed 50 runs in 3 overs with one wicket in hand - if that were the case and Australia lost, then it might qualify as a "choke".

Yes, that was a bad result. Choke or just played cabernet. Don't know, didn't watch it.

Can you actually choke in a meaningless friendly though?

Before the match Italy were rated as 1000-1 outsiders to win the World Cup and local bookmakers had even given them a phenomenal 52-point start in the warm-up match.
