Ok, perhaps you can share what the crowd size was, the ground etc.?God is an Englishman wrote:I regularly have many different discussions going at the same time, seems like you're the one deflecting on this thread by even mentioning cricket.

the conversation was about the popularity of RL in England. I pointed out that if a ground can't even sell out for a World Cup semi, it's not that big of a sport.

So they move the final to a smaller ground than the semi and back into Lancashire rather than London.
As I said, very few people in England care about RL. Let alone outside of Lancashire and Yorkshire.

Australia whingeing again, apparently the old Trafford pitch isn't good enough and the slope off the pitch is too much

Re: Rugby League World cup
It was bloody dangerous how close the field was to the signage
Anyway, good to have the Aussies win the cup! Even if there was very little competition for them throughout the tournament. Australia, England and NZ are the only teams who really have a fair chance to win it

Good win but as much satisfaction as backing a strong favourite in a horse race. You're happy but celebrations are down to a minimum.
Glad to see the Wallabies beat the Welsh, the strongest six nations side, in the main code though. Didnt see the game but judging by the score looks like it may have been a decent match.

They were complaining about the slope at the end of the in goal area. You convicts will whinge about anything.

I very much doubt there was 74K poms there.
As for how much I care, look at what I have been saying this whole thread.

how many of those were English? Why wasn't the final at a bigger ground if so many people care about it?

74k for a non pom final isnt too bad really - they at least got to see the best two teams play, something they wouldnt get a chance to do much.

The point some bloke said though is that there was 74K "poms" in the crowd. I have questioned that figure, he's gone quiet.
