I think you'll find that funding has already been provided mate.

My reading of the release indicated that was a historical list of funding SA Gov has given to football

Where did you get the othe $200k from for that ?

On a serious note...is the grant for Gardens new, and is the Council matching tht funding ?....you don't get much for $200k these days.
Girls changerooms added on at O'Sullivan Beach are costing over $300k.

Lefty with his links could build a new hindmarsh with that amount of cash

Congrats to both Fulham & Gardens

300k for women's change rooms?

You can get 2 houses for that.

Parafield Gardens have been allocated an SA Govt grant of $200k plus Salisbury Council funding that will enable us to build a new facility with a clubroom & x4 changerooms. Concept plans have been finalised & are curently be reviewed before final designs are complete. It has been many years of work & lobbying by the committee to secure the funding with more still to be done before we see an exciting new facility that is well deserved & worth the wait.

Well done to all involved lets hope its completed before our 50th year in 2016.

And yes Haywood we may well have a Hindmarsh Stadium at Parafield

True you can... bot that simple...equivalent of a bout 10 bathrooms, commercial standard, DDA compliant....it's an addition not stand alone...
We were quoted around $60k by a builder for a one room addition to our house with 2 existing walls....no plumbing...
However, you have to question what a 'club' may be able to build if they managed the construction process and use 'in house' tradies.

Would like to think Councils would be acceptable to this process if managed properly as the past has always been that they never get what they should for their $.

Salisbury council seem to be easier to deal with than TTG. Vista have been trying for a long time for an extension / new clubroom but seem to be getting no where.

Vista09, you raise a very interesting point.

It's amazing the difference between council's and their bureaucracy and vision.

Some don't even know what they own, so have no idea as to what state it is in!

Ask to see the council's Asset Management Plans for any council owned building.

Most will go, "What you talkin' about Willis?"

Ask to speak to the Asset Manager and how long they have been in that role?

Speaking from experience, it is the person in these roles that makes the real difference.

Look at most of the Playford Council Clubs. Not just Football but Aussie Rules too, they have spent a sh*tload because they understand the value of community and what these clubs do for the community.

There was a person that was employed by Playford Council, that some time ago was tasked with delivering Asset Management Plans for every facility in its jurisdiction.
Something that everyone can see with clarity and as a committee member could help work towards or assist with the management.

That person then moved to Salisbury Council and was tasked with the same role, but because of internal bureaucracy, this task was somewhat hampered. Although some clubs did start to see some of this persons initial efforts.

Unfortunately for most, this person has since left his post, because he was headhunted by another organisation. Time will tell wether Sal. Council continue down his path or regress to where they once were. (Just make sure Doddsy that you have it written that the council will replace your new carpet, repaint etc etc in X number of years time.)

Now I can't make any aspersions on TTG Council but I have heard stories!!!

Congrats to both clubs. Very exciting when news like this arises.

On a side note. These facilities are contracts for tender. No "in house tradies" are allowed to work on these extensions nor are they allowed on the worksite before walk through. Unfortunate really as this could potentially save the local councils thousands.
