1ST PUBLIC SURVEY COMMENTS/REPLIES;

Q7: Overall, how do you rate the FFSA Women's Administration?
Poor

Q8: What areas do you see that may be affecting the quality and future of Women's Football in South Australia?
Both U/15 girls State and NTC rob the women's Premier comp of quality. NTC doesn't even play in it

Q9: What improvement can be implemented to ensure the future of Women's Football In South Australia.
Run U14/15 State and NTC as squads separate of Prems: even if they only train with Prems once per week.

Q10: Any other Comments.
W-league should predominantly run SA based players with 2 possible imports. At least NTC would have a real purpose. More supporters would be engaged due to a direct connection to players : family and friends !

2nd response

Q7: Overall, how do you rate the FFSA Women's Administration?
Poor

Q8: What areas do you see that may be affecting the quality and future of Women's Football in South Australia?
If a player isn't considered elite they are given no consideration in anything,
Young players are allowed to push up through the ranks to early. This is pushing the older players out of the game as they find themselves surrounded by 14 yr olds and dont get the chance to play in an adult environment.
A couple of teams appear to be favoured over others by administration.
Players over the age of 16 don't really have anything to aspire to. No state representation or anything of the sort. W league is a joke. Why bring in players(including local girls who no longer support the game here). Give the opportunities to local girls.

Q9: What improvement can be implemented to ensure the future of Women's Football In South Australia.
SACK THE ADMINISTRATION.
Limit girls to playing one age group up. This will enable them to develope skills instead of just trying o survive against older and bigger players. It will also strengthen the junior leagues and keep adult players in the game at senior levels.

Q10: Any other Comments.

Not very often that I put my two cents in but wow - This Survey business is just something special haha!!

I'm not a Mathematician but let's give this a try....

Let's say for example - If we only count 1 coach/1 team manager/16 players = 18 total right

FFSA Senior Leagues (Prems - 8/Res - 8/Div 1-5/WCL) = Approx 40 teams @ Example 18ppl = 720 participants
FFSA Junior Leagues (Under 17/2xU15/2xU15) = Approx 50 teams @ Example 18ppl = 900 participants

Don forget all the U11 and U9 teams - plus assistant coaches - plus club members who aren't player/coach etc

So getting 40 responses from easily potential 1600+ reponses........ With the help of my Quackulator gives only a 2.5% response rate and thats only 40/1600!!!

Come toot your horn and wave your 'We hate FFSA flag' when you get some real stats!

Q7: Overall, how do you rate the FFSA Women's Administration?
Fair

Q8: What areas do you see that may be affecting the quality and future of Women's Football in South Australia?
An interchange rule needs to be introduced at all levels of the female game, will improve player development and keeping more experienced players involved at the highest level

Q9: What improvement can be implemented to ensure the future of Women's Football In South Australia.
fixture programing can be improved and as above, levels of the female game, will improve player development and keeping more experienced players involved at the highest level prems.

Q10: Any other Comments.
also when they ask for feedback they should make more of an effort to present to clubs what other clubs had to say about certain issues, also if clubs want certain changes implemented then trial them see how they go and make decissions after a trial period??

Q7: Overall, how do you rate the FFSA Women's Administration?

Q8: What areas do you see that may be affecting the quality and future of Women's Football in South Australia?
FFSA has failed to support promotion of the game, player retention, club development,

Q9: What improvement can be implemented to ensure the future of Women's Football In South Australia.
The FFSA need to get out into schools and promote the game at grass roots level consistently and all year round. It needs to work on reducing costs control or cap club fees for younger players. Its hard to ask for $100's of dollars for 9/10 year girl to play a game that she might not ever have played before.
Again at junior level I would say at least U15's but best if it was right up to U17's there needs to be control and monitoring of player movement a type of clearance and release system. All the best players can not be allowed to play for 1 or 2 clubs it leaves the comp unbalanced players and more to the point parents are always going to be attracted to success and trophies (stars in there eyes syndrome) spread the good players around lesser players will lift and learn from better players in their squads. Prevent families from chasing glory teach kids loyalty and commitment and that success comes from hard work not a longer drive to training. (read with other comments)

Q10: Any other Comments.
The FFSA need to consider zoning or catchment areas for junior players. The outer suburbs north, south, hills have ever expanding populations and new clubs for boys however these outer suburb clubs have difficulties getting girls to play for them as parents are prepared to drive straight past these close to home clubs to get the girls to play for an established successful club. Inner city clubs continue to run and support multiple teams while outer suburb clubs struggle to put teams together. They are able to do this partly due to getting girls from "out of the catchment areas" coming to their clubs. Surely we are better of having 20 club with 1 team each rather than 10 clubs with 2 team each. The catchment area idea is used by the SANFL and is according feed back I get from people involved in that sport playing dividends for new younger clubs. The more clubs with girls/women's teams playing the more exposure the game will receive and the bigger the game can become.

Stagnet administration, the same people every year. We need new faces, fresh faces in.

Q9: What improvement can be implemented to ensure the future of Women's Football In South Australia.
treating clubs differently instead of putting them under one banner. For example Flinders Flames is a social club who don't want to play higher than div 2, div 1 at a push. However the FFSA has stated they HAVE to push for Prem/Res ie treating them like Adelaide Uni.

Due to this bullying Flinders have lost last years div 1,2 and 3 teams (3 girls came back!) they have had a 80% turn our of new, never played before players. FFSA have told them they have no choice but to play div 1,2, 4 and 5 this year or forfeit teams. So div 1 is filled with thier last year div 4 team and div 2 is filled with girls who have NEVER played soccer before as well as thier div 3 and 5 teams. What message is this going to send to these girls when they get humiliated and ambushed every week! We have one of the strongest women's clubs in the competion being treated like rubbish because they focus on inclusion, fun and the social side of football not the competitive 'must win' attitude!

This last comment interested me. I doubt the club was told it has to push for prems/res as you nominate for either elite or social competition. The 'elite' comp has certain things in place for clubs to even nominate for that (well this is my understanding from what I've read). Is it actually bullying from FFSA the reasoning behind you losing so many players or is it due to people at the club talking about what they seem to have no idea about?
I'm not sure as I'm obviously not involved but having a look at the stats that are available on Sporting Pulse it seems that more than 3 players have come back. For example:
Players that have played in Division 1 side for 2014 that played at Flinders last year:
Div 1: 4 players
Div 2: 6 players
Div 3: 4 players
Div 4: NONE
There are also 6 new players that have played in this team here and there and also a player that has come back after time off that has previously played Prems at another club.
Looking at that maybe it comes down to player availability, commitment etc I'm not sure.

I can't really be bothered looking into the Division 2 team as the comments about the Division 1 team speaks for itself I think.
