Shame the game got abandoned was shaping up to be a great second half.

Game abandoned after bosa captain got booked for diving and one of their supporters took exception and gave the ref a hard time.spooky1972 wrote:Jeremy Paxman wrote:A's: Bosa 0 Adelaide United 1 (abandoned after 43 minutes)

Will be interesting to see how the league handles it.
The result should stand.

Re: Results Saturday May 17th
First team game abandoned by the referee in comical circumstances just prior to half time after a spectator behind the goal line refused to move. I can't see what the issue was as he was away from the pitch out of harm's way. Just prior to that a Bosa player had been booked for simulation for a blatant dive (couldn't have happened to a more deserving player). Uni had taken the lead from the spot in the third minute but most of the attacking after that came at the other end. Personally I don't think it warranted abandoning but obviously the referee did.I wrote:A's: Bosa 0 Adelaide United 1 (abandoned after 43 minutes)

As the score line suggests the reserves was very one sided and could have been bigger.

Definitely a spectator? I heard it may have been a Bosa official listed on the team sheet...Jeremy Paxman wrote:First team game abandoned by the referee in comical circumstances just prior to half time after a spectator behind the goal line refused to move. The referee made a big deal out of nothing... but the yellow card was correct.Black_Panther wrote:one of their supporters took exception and gave the ref a hard time.

But was it a team official who was asked to move by the ref? (Asking because not sure, just going off Facebook)Jeremy Paxman wrote:He was lying on the ground watching the game.bob saget wrote:Definitely a spectator? I heard it may have been a Bosa official listed on the team sheet...

I thought you had to play 70 minutes for the result to stand?Black_Panther wrote:Game abandoned after bosa captain got booked for diving and one of their supporters took exception and gave the ref a hard time.spooky1972 wrote:Jeremy Paxman wrote:A's: Bosa 0 Adelaide United 1 (abandoned after 43 minutes)

Re: Results Saturday May 17th
I don't know if he is/isn't an official but he was doing the barbecue when I went to get lunch at half time during the reserves. Mind you, the referee had to ask the Uni coach to go back to his technical area three times prior to that, so why not abandon the game then if he's going to use the "team official" excuse.bob saget wrote:But was it a team official who was asked to move by the ref? I'm not from either side, but I thought it was over the top.

Perhaps the ref realised it was an A-League team and they should not be allowed to play amateurs?Jeremy Paxman wrote:A's: Bosa 0 Adelaide United 1 (abandoned after 43 minutes)

A's: Vipers 0 - 3 Titans
B's: Vipers 0 - 3 Titans
C's: Vipers 0 - 7 Titans
Great day for the Titans, 3 wins, 3 clean sheets, a hat-trick from Pro Loizides to get the first 3 points on the board and a perfect start for new coach Dom Musci.
The referee made some questionable decisions regarding choice of card (especially the red) but it didn't matter in the end...
