the AFL are taking this way to lightly, the club has 34 players being investigated on drug use and they are like no worries carry on, we will just continue on the comp with you in it ...

In our society there is still the presumption of innocence until proven guilty right?adelaidebloke wrote:the AFL are taking this way to lightly, the club has 34 players being investigated on drug use and they are like no worries carry on, we will just continue on the comp with you in it ...

Re: Essendon Saga continues
They've already been made to pay big time and all due to just being slack with management. Other than that, they haven't been found guilty of anything.adelaidebloke wrote:it is a fotball comp, Essenon are draggin e comp through mud with the other teams...dont get how they can stay to be honest untill they clean there mess!
Perhaps we should strip Juventus' Serie A titles for something they did and got punshed for many years ago too.

So being chucked out of finals, club fined $2m, draft picks taken away, for being found guilty of only poor management practices isnt a fair whack?adelaidebloke wrote:they have had no whack.....still blaming evryone else

So they've been whacked for "poor management practices" only.Bomber wrote:So being chucked out of finals, club fined $2m, draft picks taken away, for being found guilty of only poor management practices isnt a fair whack?adelaidebloke wrote:they have had no whack.....still blaming evryone else

No whacks for "drug taking".
Draft picks taken, but then one given back. For no real reason.

Drug taking? You'll have to show me where this has been legally evidenced.Bacon888 wrote:So they've been whacked for "poor management practices" only.Bomber wrote:So being chucked out of finals, club fined $2m, draft picks taken away, for being found guilty of only poor management practices isnt a fair whack?adelaidebloke wrote:they have had no whack.....still blaming evryone else

"Poor management practices only". Think about the "only" - rather harsh penalty I would have thought.

That's what the current trial is about, against ASADA. You know, the reason why the show cause notices have been issued.Bomber wrote:Drug taking? You'll have to show me where this has been legally evidenced.Bacon888 wrote: So they've been whacked for "poor management practices" only.

I say only, as in, we only injected our players with potentially health-threatening substances, but we didn't keep records of what, who & how often they were.
You can't be pulled over for speeding, and be found to be unlicenced/unregistered/drunk, and say "But I paid the fine for speeding - that's enough".

Re: Essendon Saga continues
If we are going to use law as example (speeding comparison), would it be acceptable that a court would impose such a penalty based on the 3 other "extras" if these 3 were UNproven but only the speeding part was? It would be chucked out/appealed in an instant!Bacon888 wrote:That's what the current trial is about, against ASADA. Re: Essendon Saga continues
Here's the thing about that right... remember how the Bombres were excluded from the finals last year? Well, that was because the club didn't keep the records of what they injected their players.Bomber wrote:Evidence?adelaidebloke wrote:THEY TOOK BANNED DRUGS
Now, they could all well and good have been totally legitimate injections. But you'd have to ask WHY the club didn't keep ANY records.
If there was nothing wrong with the injections, why not keep records? I mean, it's a pretty standard practice I would assume for any professional sporting team to keep medical records.

Re: Essendon Saga continues
And that's why the club have been punished already. Poor management practices! Thing is, they have admitted to injections, but just so happens they werent on the banned list - things I believe they DO have records of.Bacon888 wrote:Here's the thing about that right... remember how the Bombres were excluded from the finals last year?
