It needs a dramatic statement on this one from major countries. They need to boycott it at any time that affects their leagues. Do they seriously expect Bundesliga, Seria A, La Liga and the Premier League to shut up shop for 2 months.

It's estimated over 75% of the players will come from European leagues, meaning most other leagues won't be affected much. So if it goes to a vote they could probably push it through.

You expect all these countries to hold their nerve? They would all love to get one over the EPL at their busiest time
Most of Europe has winter breaks around then and what with FIFAs capacity for 'incentives' I wouldn't be surprised if it's a done deal already. Maybe the individual league TV deals might be a problem for FIFA

Don't most of the European leagues close down December and January?
The older I get the better I was.

Come on, the easy solution is just to give that WC to Australia. You know it makes sense. :D
Stirling District (est 1967) 32 seasons successfully avoiding a Championship then this
1999 Div 2 Champions
2002 Div 2 & 2B
2004 Div 1 & Champion of Champions
2007 Div 1 & 1B
2009 Div 1B
2011 Div 1B
2013 Div 2B & 7C
2014 Div 2B

Great idea , after we have proven track record of successfully hosting world sport.

Why would it go to the country that came bottom in the voting?

Because obviously that country was the only one who wasn't corrupt.

Of the big ones, only Germany stop for a significant period (between a month and six weeks). Italy stop for one weekend, same with Spain I think.

I did read a mock schedule somewhere that made some sense. Had Euro seasons starting in July, they'd have their stop for WC preparations in early November and be back to their clubs by mid Janaury at the latest. Can't remember where I saw it, however.

Spot on and yet FIFA pointed the finger at Australia and England over corruption.

Because you're incapable of answering a simple question and I enjoy showing up fake modern football supporters

You see how I answered your question, why don't you give it a go.

So you support a country that you're not even from ad you don't support your own country

Who do you support when Adelaide United play Comets in pre season?

Judging by this you have turned your back on Croydon and England.

I cant see the big UEFA clubs allowing FIFA to do this as it will totally disrupt the Champions league and Europa League calenders.

Just ignore him. Giving a reasonable answer doesn't stop a bully.

If Qatar can't hold the WC in July , they should be stripped of the tournament.

FIFA then start a new bid process.

I would imagine there's quite a few people who would love to turn their backs on Croydon. Absolute shithole with a terrible one-way system :D

I did some research before finding a club for my boy this year. A comment from a current PL coach was "if it was my son I'd send him to Croydon". Heard very good things about their junior set up.
