Brahma have the option to postpone and also throw their plans out and then have 14 days to reschedule. Silly if PHE don't come to the party. Has SAASL ever allowed a club to postpone and reschedule a fixture before? Surely if that option was available, teams would be postponing every week they had 2-3 players going to a wedding?Chaos wrote:Brahma have the option to postpone and also throw their plans out and then have 14 days to reschedule. Re: FFSA CUP 2018
You can do it, though you have to apply in writing 30 days before the start of the season, however due to the Federation cup clause the league can re-schedule at their discretion.English wrote:Has SAASL ever allowed a club to postpone and reschedule a fixture before? Re: FFSA CUP 2018
remember the cove making the fed cup quarters(?) years ago and HAD to play fed cup Saturday and Sunday Div 1 game on Sunday back in the 90s.
They played (I think?) their reserves in fed cup.
Surely todays SAASL could play their cup games midweek as todays facilities are much better.
Sunday Div 1 games should be just that. Doesn't matter what day of the week the cup is crowds will come.

The thing is moving the league game to mid week means the home club means that the home team eg. East and West lose out financially cause no one will come out mid week for the catch up game cause of trainings and work night. And you won’t get the crowds out on a Sunday to watch only the c grade and reserves.
Has to work out for both teams

um where is that clause ... as the SAASL haven't been involved in the Federation cup for many years ,,, and its not known as the Federation Cup any more

surely helping your rival to your own detriment is not in your clubs best interest if that's the case

It should never be put on PHE, shoot themselves in the foot or be outed for not accommodating, that’s unfair on them.Chaos wrote:Financially, or benefit of the game. What's your angle?redfred wrote:surely helping your rival to your own detriment is not in your clubs best interest if that's the case
This week isn’t too bad as there’s no games this week end, but expecting Amatuer sides to play an extra game midweek whilst Fed clubs have it scheduled in is not helping the Amatuer clubs that have thrown their hat in the ring.
Hopefully next season SAASL schedule week ends & help this comp grow, good luck to those in action this week.

Clause 30 (a) of the League Championship rules version 2017. As this is the latest published version it is the one that would be relied upon.C U Next Tuesday wrote:Brian the Postman wrote:You can do it, though you have to apply in writing 30 days before the start of the season, however due to the Federation cup clause the league can re-schedule at their discretion.English wrote: Has SAASL ever allowed a club to postpone and reschedule a fixture before? I mean a huge crowd of 1,000 is still only about 0.1% of Adelaide population.

Re: FFSA CUP 2018
Very enjoyable game 2-1 at half time with the a Bowman right foot thunder bolt (who said he hasn't got a right foot)manu1 wrote:Modbury 3 Brahma 2
Brahma scored early in the second half to make it 2-2 scrappy tap in by Mullen from a corner.
Modbury had Johnson off the pitch with a blood issue so Modbury were down to 10 men for nearly 10 minutes and in that time Brahma hit the post twice which would have put them in front and changed the game. Modbury got Johnson back on looking like the mummy man and started to get back into the game again. Modbury attacked down their right crossed the ball in about hip height and it hit Grahams hand in the box - he was by himself it clearly hit his hand and I think he had time to get it out of the way so Elder gave the penalty. McGreevy stepped up against McKee in goal, McKee saved the first shot but it only went back to McGreevy who put away the rebound.
Modbury also hit the post twice in the game (Farrell was hitting the ball beautifully from distance) but generally it was a pretty even game with a very good crowd with a lot of friendly banter going on.
I think Brahma and the Downs will have some very interesting games against each other this year which should be worth watching. PS Brahma must have the biggest left back I have seen and planes go past pretty low down and on a regular basis over Brahmas ground

Brahma v Modbury
Great game last night which showed what the FFA Cup is all about. I though Modbury played some very good football in the 1st half with Bowman & Farrell scoring from outside the box, what about Farrell's effort from inside his own half that the keeper just got too.
Both clubs have some very talented players and it was a fast and exciting game to watch, Brahma with Pudler, Centrone, McDonald, Chad B and Mullin have a great team and looked very good going forward, luckily for the Jets the post saved them at 2-2.
Overall a great advertisement for our local game.

So the early signs of the FFSA/SAASL "merger" are good? Hopefully more amateur clubs join in next season and make it even bigger and brighter.

 I agree ps I thought there might be an issue with the lights but they were better than a couple of SL1 clubs. So all good there. The pitch was a bit bumpy and sandy in places but overall aok.Mr Untouchable wrote:Brahma v Modbury

great advert for the SAASL.
Thought Jets had better of first half but winning goal was against run of play.
1 goal wins becoming par for the course
