Finally the "heads" at FA realise that you don't need a team of has-been to win the thing.

I feel sick saying this, but the World Cup is going back Engerland!

Anybody but Brazil, again!

In 1966 Germany, Italy and Argentina didn't win the final either. Oh, the stars are aligning.

Nice try
would I be trolling if I was an English journo writing for an English paper???

But take off your three lions shirt for a moment, put down your union jack flag, watch the game again and England’s players were no angels. Jordan Henderson and Harry Maguire (and, yes, the Leicester defender did at least hold up his hands after he took a tumble) were among those exaggerating or feigning contact.
Gareth Southgate was asked about England’s conduct afterwards by a Russian journalist, who suggested to him that the current generation of players, unlike the team that the manager had been part of in the 90s, “falls down every time the wind blows”. Southgate, a dignified man working in an undignified game, replied: “Maybe we’re getting a bit smarter. Maybe we’re now playing by the rules the rest of the world are playing by. I thought there were many, many fouls in the game and I don’t think we conceded anywhere near the number of our opponents. If we went down, it’s because we were fouled.”

There are very fine margins that divide teams qualified for this round of elimination,Columbia didn't play their best player,if England was without Kane maybe it would be the equivalent. The upcoming game against Sweden will be exiting!

England hava a stronger team, but i truly have no idea who will win this game. The curse of injuries continues with Cavani out for Uruguay against France, also Vardy for England.

A Scotsman, an Irishman and a Welshman walk into a bar, normally there would be an Englishman, but he's in Russia watching the World Cup :)

A Scotsman, Irishman, Welshman, Englishman, German, Australian, Indian, Croatian, Italian, American, Ethiopian, Malaysian and Dane walk into a bar.

The bartender says, sorry lads, I can't let you in without a Thai.

The Thai couldn't make it because he's stuck in a cave at Chang Rai.

Think France will edge by Uruguay 2-1 but may need Extra Time to get the job done. The loss of Cavani due to injury will force them to play a really tight game but hoping it is entertaining all the same.

Indeed. There are about 45 teams in Europe better than Asia's best.

If they're using VAR why don't they use it in the penalty shoot outs? The croatian keeper is clearly off his line before the ball is kicked and the kick should have been retaken.

They should.

It's too late now, it should have been implemented from the beginning.

Japan are a nation of 127 million people. I think they're punching below their weight like all of Asia.

They Don't need VAR when you have 2 official muppets within 5 yards of the offending player, these officials should never be allowed to officiate at a top level ever again, easiest solution, change the rule back, you stay rooted to the spot on the line until the ball is kicked, much easier to police than this Barossa Pearl moving across the line crap
