Melbourne Cup
I wonder if El Paso strikes the trifecta 100 times again this year.
First four my aim this year, 200 times.

Re: 2016 Melbourne Cup
It gets me why states have public holidays for horse races (ie SA & Vic) - surely they could just have these type of races on weekends.

Would you prefer to work 365 days a year? Public holidays on religious grounds is even more silly if you think about it.Mr Red wrote:It gets me why states have public holidays for horse races (ie SA & Vic) - surely they could just have these type of races on weekends.
Great day, just enjoy it.

I don't see any shame in taking advantage of the brainwashed initiatives. We're already going to hell, they are destined for heaven, so everyone's a winner.Wayne Kerr wrote:Bomber wrote:Would you prefer to work 365 days a year? I don't believe in the concept of a royal family but I do make the most of my day off for the trollop''s birthday.
Re: 2016 Melbourne Cup
So why do we have a public holiday called - March public holiday - just to celebrate the month of March

Re: 2016 Melbourne Cup
A day off for a horse race is pretty silly.
On the other side of the argument though, get rid of the Adelaide Cup holiday and give us Melbourne Cup off instead. Yesterday afternoon was a write off and can't see me achieving much today either.

Re: 2016 Melbourne Cup
I enjoy any day off as I work hard for my keep. I really don't care who or what its in aid of and last I checked, Australia's economy hasn't crashed as a result of a handful of public holidays.Wayne Kerr wrote:Bomber wrote:Would you prefer to work 365 days a year? The ones who seem to whinge most about public holidays are the mega rich big business owners and people who are just generally whingers about anything.

Boxed the trifecta
Not as big a payout as previous years, but a handy win nonetheless

Is that all? I thought by now you would have advanced to First four's - pays much better more often than not.
Now its just whether a new car, new Harley or another Euro holiday. Hmmmm..........

Lucky they are invited, bred and trained for longer distances - still took a SA rider to do the job.

Didn't realise we got the trifecta.I put a bet on my son, picked the wrong English horse.
Put a bet on for myself, picked the wrong Godolfin horse.

Re: Melbourne Cup
Wonder how many protesters will gather around the outskirts of Flemington this year.
Maybe the bookies might give me some early odds.
I'm going for 50-100.
