This year the first round will have all amateur sides, SL1 & 2 then 1 NPL side.
Last year the qualifiers were just Amateur & SL2

Round 1 will involve all State League 1 Teams (12), State League 2 Teams (12) and all nominated Affiliated Association teams (19), being a total of 43 teams. One National Premier League (NPL) team will be required to be drawn out to bring the total number of teams competing in Round 1 to 44 teams. The ten (10) remaining NPL Teams will have a bye in Round 1. Please note Adelaide United is not eligible to participate in the FFA Cup Preliminary Rounds.
The draw for Round 1 will take place at 11:00am on Monday, 18 March 2019 at FFSA Offices, Coopers Stadium. The draw will be hosted by The Advertiser’s Rob Greenwood and will be livestreamed through FFSA’s Facebook page.
FFSA invites all club representatives to attend the draw and be involved with interviews as part of the live stream broadcast. If a representative from your club is attending please RSVP your attendance by 9.00am, Monday, 18 March 2019.
Following the draw, fixtures will be emailed to clubs. The home team of each fixture will be required to provide the date and time of when the game is to be played on the weekend of the 29-31 March 2019. This information is to be provided to FFSA no later than 9.00am Wednesday 20 March 2019.
At the completion of Round 1, the winners of these games being 32 teams will go into Round 2 to be played on the weekend of 19-21 April (Easter Weekend).
Cup Draw Format
• Round 1 – 44 Teams to play, 10 NPL Teams to have a bye;
• Round 2 – 22 winning Teams from Round 1 plus 10 NPL Teams – Round of 32;
• Round 3 – 16 winning Teams from Round 2 – Round of 16;
• Quarter Finals – Eight (8) winning Teams from Round 3;
• Semi-Finals – Four (4) winning teams from the Quarter Finals;
• Finals –Two (2) winning teams from the Semi-Finals.
Federation Cup (Under 18s and Reserves)
Thirty-Six Teams will contest the Under 18s and Reserves Federation Cup.
Round 1 will involve only eight (8) teams to be drawn out from State League 2. All NPL and State League 1 Teams will have a bye including the four (4) remaining State League 2 teams.
The winning four (4) teams from Round 1 will join the remaining 28 teams in Round 2 (Round of 32).
The draw for Round 1 of the Reserves and Under 18 Federation Cup will take place following the draw of the FFA Cup.
