I guess every ball is a chance as the potential of a wicket is there.

Is this a world record for the most times Smith has been mentioned in the one post.ozzie owl wrote:Steve Smith stats for the series so far all achieved in only 3 tests.

2 times he has been hit by Archer
1 time he has been knocked over by Archer
1 time he was too scared to bat in the 2nd innings.
He has batted well but he has shown small weaknesses against Archer and Leach.

You're right with the last sentence however whether due to poor captaincy from Root or poor execution from the bowlers they haven't capitalised AT ALLGod is an Englishman wrote:Is this a world record for the most times Smith has been mentioned in the one post.ozzie owl wrote:Steve Smith stats for the series so far all achieved in only 3 tests.

1 - anyone who is compared to the Don doesn't just 'bat well'
2 - how many times did Archer get him out???

The only way he should be compared to bradman is that they were both scared to face genuine quicks.
He hasn't but probably only because the time he had him scared and hurt someone else got him before he got a chance. Then he cried off for the next 3 innings.
Hardly sour grapes, I said he batted well. Are you denying that leach and archer troubled him?

I think Steve Smith walking around London with the Ashes in his pocket probably trumps thatB.Toomer wrote:Just seen in London, Stuart Broad walking around with warners ugly head sticking out of his back pocket.

Re: Ashes 2019
I recall a certain English person on this forum saying he'd rather the ashes more than a ODI WC once.
Anyway, one thing I notice that was critical which hasn't been mentioned much, if at all. Winning the toss. Can't stress how important this is these days and Paine has won 3 from 4, unlike our last few series over there (from memory).

Im sure if he was allowed to play by the doctors he would have. No way in hell he wouldn't have been out there if he was allowed to be. Incorrect, you like many of your countrymen value the ashes more higher than the world Cup.

Considering you've shown time and time again you don't know much about cricket you don't have a leg to stand on. You do after all think the wicket can be made to produce swingMichael wrote:Cooper wrote:Its ok that you have no idea and don't understand how it all works. Try harder next time.Michael wrote:

How do you prepare a pitch for swing?
Have you worked out how the pitch would affect your team selection yet?
Do you think Leach and Archer haven't troubled smith?

Don't worry if it was in reverse and Australia won the WC and England the Ashes, Toomer would have written "The England Test Team walking around London with The Ashes in their hands trumps that"Michael wrote:B.Toomer wrote:The England One Day Team walking around London with the cricket World Cup in their hands trumps that.

Head dropped for Marsh!
Seriously, if you wanted to drop anyone, drop either Wade, Warner or even Paine before Head!
I would of gone with
Warner
Harris
Marnus
SMITH
Head
Marsh
Wade
Cummins
Starc
Hazlewood
Lyon/Siddle
