Re: Mourinho gone
Yeah, thats why I see the timing weird.
Historically thou, new managers don't normally lose their first game in charge... so they are pretty desperate for a trophy, so most probably thinking the same

Honestly, if they try and play football and lose 4-0, I'd rather see that than watch them park the bus and lose anyway.haywood djablowme wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 7:44 pmYeah, thats why I see the timing weird.

Re: Mourinho gone
I never liked him as a manager and I never wanted him at Spurs, his tactics are boring and he only won stuff elsewhere by buying the best players, he's a chequebook manager, not a coach.
That said, if he parted ways with Spurs over the disgusting ESL plans, then fair play to him, I salute him for that. Mind you, given his history that is a massive 'if'.
I have to be honest and say, football started dying for me with the Premier League and the European Cup changing to money making exercises, then VAR doing it's level best to strangle the life out of it, so this might be the nail in the coffin. I don't think I could ever support another club, but I might be in agreement with some of those wanky Goons and Chelsea fans

Footbal started it's death in 1992 with 2 major blows, then had another blow in 96. The Special Once is finished.
Used to be great, got found out and players don't respond to him anymore. Has a great record but not sure any one will employ him anymore. Punditry may be his future.

Re: Mourinho gone
He only ever coached/managed big clubs, so his record doesn't demonstrate any great skills, rather the fact that is much easier to win trophies with big clubs with big money and top players, than it is with middle of the table clubs with more limited budgets.
I wonder who will have to clean up the wreckage he's left behind him again?
I don't envy them.

I was just trying to point out that anyone can win trophies, if they have the ability to buy the best players available when backed by a multi-Billionaire whereas everyone else has to make do with what they've got.Raich Carter wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 2:44 pmYou're comparing your record against hisOld Master wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 1:58 pmI reckon I probably won more trophies than he ever did and I respected my players and treated them as I would have liked to be treated when I was a player.

Most coaches have to teach their players how to play and how to bring the best out of them, he just has to fit them into a specific system and win games.
if he can't do that then he deserves to be sacked.

Hmm, he coached Porto to x2 Pimeira Tiltles in 2003 & 2004, UEFA Cup in 2003, including Portuguese Super Cup and the Champions League in 2004.Old Master wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 1:21 pm He only ever coached/managed big clubs, so his record doesn't demonstrate any great skills, rather the fact that is much easier to win trophies with big clubs with big money and top players, than it is with middle of the table clubs with more limited budgets.

Re: Mourinho gone
Leopard's and spots and all that, I was staggered when Levy, who is notoriously mean, took a punt on him. It appears there's a limitless supply of fools waiting to be parted from their hard earned.
