From the results on the weekend, fair enough- will be interested to see what Flinders, Cove and Panthers have to offer...

Can someone explain with 8 teams having a bye why the 1st round wasn't just SL and Reserves sides?

Will it stop some clubs stacking their Reserve side with Premier players for the first round ?
Some SL teams might look forward to the challenge of competing against a WNPL side,

Watching a couple of the wnpl games via internet are there still players missing from starting Xl ?
Maybe we were spoilt with the good standard last season, at the moment standard looks very scrappy a lot of long balls from defense to a fast attacker, many passes to opposition players .
Lets see what this weeks matches dish up.

I believe all W-League players that play in the WNPL as well are still on their break between seasons. You'd think they'd be back very soon though

Looks like Salisbury Inter were pretty much back at full strength last night

Personally I'd rather see the reserves teams in a stand alone Cup.

not a bad idea, even split them into two groups of 4 so they all play three matches and the top team in each group play the cup final.

I think that if the Women's State League had been set up with Reserves sides required as well, that likely would have happened.

if they all have a second senior side they could look at that next season.
