I blame the barmy army for having so little effect on the team. If I'm wrong, then imagine how much worse the poms would be!C U Next Saturday wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 10:48 am joe root, 12 tests in aus for 11 losses and a draw

We are awesome though, the reactions of the players show much they love what we do.Bomber wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 2:17 pmI blame the barmy army for having so little effect on the team. Probably a case of being nice . Think we all know the Barmy Army was quieter than normal even with the reduction in crowdGod is an Englishman wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 3:20 pm We are awesome though, the reactions of the players show much they love what we do.

Re: Ashes 21/22
Yes, they repay you by playing poorly. Either you're not supporting well enough, or the team isn't responding well enough. But keep it up, it's working well....FOR US!God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 3:20 pmWe are awesome though, the reactions of the players show much they love what we do.Bomber wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 2:17 pmI blame the barmy army for having so little effect on the team. Re: Ashes 21/22
The Barmy Army was pretty vocal on what of the telcast I saw, even when defeat was inevitable. If anything it is Australian fans that don't know how to sing.

Re: Ashes 21/22
Why the need to sing? It's usually a football thing. Majority of sports there's no crowd singing. We let our sportsmen do the talking on the field.
Either way, it seems to be doing very little in lifting the performance of the poms.

Re: Ashes 21/22
and how boring is the atmosphere at cricket because of it. I'm not surprised an aussie doesn't understand supporting their team.

Re: Ashes 21/22
Sit back and enjoy the laid back nature of the game. Would you chant at a district or county game? Do you really need some repetitious drunken pub songs to make the game "exciting"? Maybe poms live such dreary lives that even the most simplest things can amuse them and make them feel so important.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 10:02 am

Re: Ashes 21/22
So in your definition, if you don't sing drunken pub songs at the cricket, you aren't supporting the team? Tell me which other countries sing such silly ditties at test matches?God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 10:40 amYes, I have sung at a county game.Bomber wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 10:20 amSit back and enjoy the laid back nature of the game. No, you don't have to but australians just silently watch, when they bother to turn up. It's not about singing, it's the support.
