No need for England players to take the knee.

The Iranian players are being asked to make gestures and comments that could well cost them or their families their lives while the England players bottle the daft armband gesture but still think they are being all noble by kneeling. It’s quite disturbing really

He was waiting for an opportunity to award another dubious free kick or a pen but it never came

I've never seen a good Socceroos team, but this is the worst I've ever seen.
They don't even try to play.

They looked like a Sunday league amateur team. France could've had 10.
What has Australian football been doing for the past 20 years? Just getting worse. That was an embarrassing performance flattered by score line.

Re Aus v France: given the disparity in class, I expected our boys to chase, press and harass a lot more but it's as though they ran out of puff and ideas pretty much soon after the equaliser. From here: out in straight sets and Australia will seek a new coach shortly after.
Re KSA v Argies: pretty to watch despite Argies clueless on how to negate the offside trap - Saudis look good enough to progress from this group.
Re Poland v Mexico: Poor performance by Poland, but ffs when you get the benefit of a penalty and miss in such circumstances, it will come back to bite you. Opportunity missed, even though Mexico were better overall.

Typical Arnold game plan , slow ponderous , lacking energy and sit back crossing fingers and toes hoping we can hold out France.

in your opinion, 'ideally', how should Australia have played this game, and if different to how they actually did, how should they have 'practically' done so?

Arnold spoke the other week about how the French squad have been playing 2-3 games a week and would be feeling smashed whereas the Australian players having played once a week recently will be fresh and able to go for it. Saw the complete opposite.

And I'm shocked that he would make such a simplistic observation given what he would've experienced playing professionally overseas as a player. Cannot compare.

C'man, look at the current team - full of A-leaguers and Scottish leaguers, the odd div 2 and 3 in other countries here and there. The "curriculum" surrounding juniors is clearly working.

Don’t think we have yet seen the generation that started the curriculum from day 1, still have players that were coached wrong early, but certainly exciting times ahead.
