Going to be a cracking world cup.

Short preparation time. Could mean a few shock results.

Best chance for a while for someone new to lift the trophy.

You could be right with the shocks. If it has to be someone new I'd have to go for the Dutchies. Is it 3 finals they've lost ?

Most world cups before this one, were after the season has ended.
This one is smack in the middle of the season, so all players (unless injured) should be at peak fitness.
Should be cracking games, teams like France, Germany etc thats start slow, wont have this excuse.

The World Cup should NEVER have been granted to Qatar.
The corruption will be exposed, all the under table payments to the delegates who voted

Correct. Plus 16 degrees Celsius average evening temp, 25 C daytime means players will not suffer any heat exhaustion.

The World Cup Final is on the 19th December and the EPL will resume on Boxing Day 26 December going into the usual busy New Year period. Shouldn’t be too many complaints by EPL fans about that.

Football shutting down for over a month is ridiculous.

Q1 - I don't know
Q2 - my guess is they can say whatever 'cause' they want that they're taking a knee for so long as it's not illegal in or offensive to Qatar. The armband visually promotes something that is illegal in Qatar and FIFA don't want to upset the host nation because they're a pathetic organisation

Plus another who thinks the same. You can't ignore the facts- Corruption/bribes, human rights not respected and this does include the poor workers (mostly slave labour immigrants) who lost their lives building the stadiums and infrastructure.
So the 'lefties' take a hammering for stating the facts- pretty pathetic and shameful if you want to ignore it and sweep it under the carpet. This is a humanitarian issue and great that people like Philipp Lahm (ex German captain and World Cup winner in 2014) has refused to go to Qatar for these reasons. IMO, Lineker(who I like) and others of that ilk should have done the same.

Shocked me as well. How has such a poor side got to the last 16?

The Danes will rightly be looking for an inquest into this world cup. Drawing with tunisia and losing to australia will not be seen as acceptable.
