more than happy to move on......but you still havent answered the 2 questions....Post by Arena Oaxaca » Thu Dec 01, 2022 11:26 pm
We have a national curriculum and our national team completely ignores how it says w we should play
Anyway, we should move on, you’re starting to rant and repeat the same question like that other form defective.

Naaah, he's just a donkey...always has been. But I appreciate his BOG effort for Croatia. Good job Spain also, knock out Germany and avoid Croatia next round in one fell swoop.Arena Oaxaca wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 7:04 am
It was almost comical, he had money on Croatia going through

He is a one footed, one trick donkey. Shame he didn't stay at Chelsea.

Asian confederation teams did/doing quite well. Japan and Australia through to last 16, and despite not making it, Saudis and Iran each claiming a decent scalp in their group and South Korea could still trouble Portugal, wait and see. Forget Qatar for obvious reasons.

Re: World Cup 2022 Forum
Many of us (including refs, linesmen etc) are that used to calling the ball "out" once more than half of it or the portion where ball touches the ground surface (to the naked eye) is over the line, that it's easy to lose sight of the fact that the whole ball (all angles) needs to be completely over the line.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 2:44 pmThe angle directly above shows the call was correct.eagleboy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 11:24 am VAR? need to see a better angle of this.

Re: World Cup 2022 Forum
Looked very similar when a few seasons ago, Liverpool were denied a goal at Man City by a similar miniscule margin in a game decided by one goal. Was hard to take, especially as that season there were only a couple points the difference between the teams at the end.

Was just going to comment that an angle from above (drone camera perhaps) would be only way of telling. From this photo it looks like the correct decision was made- well done the match officials and also to eagleboy for posting it.

Re: World Cup 2022 Forum
Just found this on another site. Funny if true
Interesting series of events from
@Socceroos
game no one is talking about:
70' Danish sub carries note onto field to give to Eriksen
72' Note appears to end up in hands of Aussie coaching staff
74' Australia makes sub and switches formation to 5-4-1

The guy on the ground's foot appears to be marginally offside.
What do we have to do to get some consistency around here?

Re: World Cup 2022 Forum
Wrong angle, when you're talking about millimetres, you need a view straight down the line.

Re: World Cup 2022 Forum
He can't possibly be as the ball is at its furthest point of being in play on the goal line, much like a corner kick- which means Japan's number 25 (Maeda) is at worst level with the ball and not in front of it or his team mate.Pussý Riot wrote: ↑Fri Dec 02, 2022 8:08 pmThe guy on the ground's foot appears to be marginally offside.

Re: World Cup 2022 Forum
Not being offside from a corner has nothing to do with that. Not all corners are taken from the goal line. A player offside doesn't necessarily have to be on the park either.
What do we have to do to get some consistency around here?

They exceeded expectations, even their own I suspect, and that's all you can ask for.

Re: World Cup 2022 Forum
lol the Aussies Bradburied their way into the last 16
worst team I've ever seen in that stage of the tournament, but there's something to be said for getting results with minimal footballing ability. Kudos to the management for getting them that far with a low block. It was very Australian.

Re: World Cup 2022 Forum
i kid you not.....sent to me by my English friend who would rather Shakespeare than Foden
VERY INTERESTING STUFF
In the 1400's a law was set forth in England that a man was allowed to beat his wife with a stick no thicker than his thumb. Hence we have 'the rule of thumb'
Many years ago in Scotland , a new game was invented. It was ruled 'Gentlemen Only..Ladies Forbidden'...and thus the word GOLF entered into the English language.
Each king in a deck of playing cards represents a great king from history:
• Spades - King David
• Hearts – Charlemagne
• Clubs -Alexander, the Great
• Diamonds - Julius Caesar
In Shakespeare's time, mattresses were secured on bed frames by ropes. When you pulled on the ropes the mattress tightened, making the bed firmer to sleep on. Hence the phrase......... 'goodnight, sleep tight.'
It was the accepted practice in Babylon 4,000 years ago that for a month after the wedding, the bride's father would supply his son-in-law with all the mead he could drink. Mead is a honey beer and because their calendar was lunar based, this period was called the honey month, which we know today as the honeymoon.
Since 1966, England fans have said they are going to win the cup at the start of every football competition, hence the phrase ‘deluded twat’

oh well.....4 years on and youre still happy with honourable losses built on guts, grit and physicality.....
i know we arent good enough but accepting the status quo isnt good enough......
credit to Arnie for getting the max out of the team by drilling a low defensive block and playing on the counter attack....

Re: World Cup 2022 Forum
Australia will always be an egg ball sports country. It doesn't have the culture, the resources or the population to ever be a serious player in the world game. You have to have at least 2 of those factors.MegaBonus wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 6:40 pm oh well.....4 years on and youre still happy with honourable losses built on guts, grit and physicality.....
