The premier league should be starting up this weekend. Ridiculous that it isn't.

1 week away till it resumes and how are the top 6 looking after WC

Arsenal - Gabby out for 3 months.. huge loss!!
Citeh - all returning fit
Chelski - Potter's eyes opened up to a couple of his bench players who dominated In games
Mancs - game time in legs for some bench players
Newcastle- same as Citeh
Liverpool - bar Diaz, same as Citeh
Spurs - interesting one! Will Kane be affected mentally. Dennis Bergkamp came back from a lost shootout against Brazil in 1998 and he wasn’t the same player for a long, long time. Does Harry think deeply enough about anything to have a World Cup hangover? Who knows. But he did stink out the start of last season because he didn’t get a move to City, also think about what missing out on a World Cup means for him personally. 300 career goals. Not a trophy in sight. If they win nothing this season, which is very possible, will he agitate for a move next summer?

That's the problem with modern football and footballers. It's a team game and it should be irrelevant if you're winning trophies as to why you stay at a club.

Are you in the top league?
Are you playing in the top competitions?
Are you testing yourself against the best?

Only these should really matter.

Boehly needs to look in the mirror. He appears to be an overly hands on owner with no experience but lots of money. More ruthless than Roman.

Condition set for Potter sack at Chelsea as Boehly expectations for final position emerge after ‘unacceptable’ realisation.

 Happy New Year to you lot as well, even the toerag Gooners. I can't believe the amount of arsey deflections and mishit shots that turn into passes you lot are getting.

Only just watched the Spurs game, Lloris must think it's still Christmas and he should be giving out gifts. What a complete champagne of a keeper.

Until then, they were the only team in it and it was only a matter of time until they scored. Enter Lloris and it's all turned on its head. Apart from Romero and Spence who we've hardly seen, unfortunately they need a complete clear out of most of their defensive unit.

With Brentford beating the scousers, the PL is beginning to feel a bit like 7 years ago when Leicester won it, with all the other teams stumbling.

Long way to go Cyril, Citeh still favourites to win it. But who knows, Levy could yet pull out the cheque book to sign some more b grade players ;-)

I agree, his actions on the side-line were way over the top. Alan Shearer and Ian Wright had a good debate about it after the match. Can understand Wright in trying to defend/not criticise Arteta too much but Shearer was more scathing, and quite right too.
To be honest the pull back in the box was there and could have been given though the potential handball would have been very harsh if given.
Shearer also blasted Arteta for not being able to accept and deal with Newcastle's defensive set-up. Did he seriously think that Newcastle were going to turn up and go with an attacking gung ho attitude?
Arsenal have been fantastic this season and Arteta has been a massive part of that, just wish he would mature as a manager and not throw the dummy from the pram when things go against him.
His after match comments were also disappointing.

If you would care to read (and absorb) line two above I appreciate the fact that they have loyalty to their former clubs, hence the word UNDERSTAND. Do you have the ability to understand this?

At no time have I said I agree with Arteta's behaviour Cyril, he should of handled his frustrations better & not acted in the manner he did. Keep in mind, he is not the first, nor will he be the last to embarrass themselves in the heat of the moment.

I more commented on your post & the fact you can say such a thing about Arteta, but go missing in that bubble of yours when the coach at the helm of your football club acts the way he does. His behaviour has been far worse than Arteta's the other morning.

 Arteta is a knob, what a child.

So, the ex Newcastle player sided with Newcastle and the ex Arsenal player sided with arsenal.

I am truly shocked.
If you would care to read (and absorb) line two above I appreciate the fact that they have loyalty to their former clubs, hence the word UNDERSTAND. Do you have the ability to understand this?

Some folk try and talk football on here- others just like to stir it up.

I gave an opinion- try and give yours without lambasting another forumite. Go on, give it a go, you might surprise yourself.

Just seen firsthand this morning why Citeh will go on & win it.

Game in the balance v Newcastle – Arteta doesn’t make a sub as he doesn’t have players available to him to make an impact

Game in the balance v Chelski - Pep introduces Mahrez, Grealish & co… 1 nil within 5 mins!

Arteta doesn’t have the squad depth, yet, to challenge the likes of Citeh all the way to the end
