You can tell they are getting nervous!

To be where they are, doing this as the youngest team in Premier League History is a credit to them. Hopefully they can go on & create some history. However, as the weeks go by, the pressure is starting to take its toll

Agreed Owl, that game had it all. Odegaard was magnificent, he was everywhere. The Arsenal must be kicking themselves after three draws in a row.

Shouldn’t Arteta occasionally get Martinelli and Saka to switch flanks and cut the ball back with their “good” foot? They’re so often turning into traffic coming inside from their nominal positions of left and right.

They’ve definitely got to come out firing against those damn Citizens or the title is gone.

I think they need a false nine and much shorter penalty takers ;-)

Ha Not Nice, you “like to watch” ( no no, not voyeur style) but you do watch Arsenal and must have noticed how deep Jesus drops to start possession. Is that not sort of like a false nine?

As for tall penalty takers, I chatted with Hellas legend and tree-top-tall Dave Pillans at Buongiorno Cafe the other day about ye olde days. He too agreed tall guys like him were easy to read by goalies and Billy Birch normally took penalties for Hellas.

In fact almost all the penalties during the Pillans/Birch era were taken by Tony Batchelor who rarely ever missed with probably only Eric Norman for Adelaide Juventus slightly the better PK exponent during those 'Golden Years'.

A young Tony Batchelor circa 1968, before the hair began to slowly thin out ;-)

Just as well Southgate isn't the manager- someone would be 'NOC'ing on his door! ;-)

Yep, then the Saudi Arabian Magpies began to cruise to a final result of 6-1 over Tottering Ham.

Was Lloris injured or just dragged at half-time?

It's not the goals that bother me, it's the lack of a playing system and the abject lack of any passion or effort from some of the players. Let's be fair, Newcastle could have scored 10, Raith Rovers would be harder to beat than Spurs. When you go to St James' the one thing you want is to quieten the crowd, so keep it tight early. Stellini obviously didn't get that message.

If you're going to get rid of Conte, why keep Conte's best mate, what did you expect to get except more of the same? In terms of a system, I've never understood the point in playing a fairly decent front three when your midfield is so weak that you cannot get the ball to them in the first place and, on the odd occasion when you do, Son and Kulu are out wide because Kane is in the middle. Take a leaf from Unai Emery's book, play one or two centrally up front and pack the midfield. At least make yourselves hard to beat.

It was like watching Newcastle v Spurs, the only difference was Ramsdale played better than Lloris.

Because it wasn't deliberate. Hand was in a natiral position.

Ball to hand, not handball.

Excuse my total ignorance regarding the lad, but which club did he come from, what age is he and what nationality is he?
He just seems to have arrived overnight but probably unlikely to be the case.
If that lad shows consistency and manages to avoid injury he will have the world at his feet.
If not on a long term contract they will have to secure his services as performances like this will attract huge interest.
Goodness knows where Newcastle will get the money from ;-).
