one way to ease the pain is to minimise the achievement, which is a long-term Hawksey tactic.....yeah, the soap dodgers dont care about the Ashes

Where did I say I don't care about the Ashes.
Funnily enough when I played at a greek club the only ones who had a shower after were the English.

Sadly other than England , India and Australia there appears decline in the appeal and interest in test cricket. Looks like we are in for an endless number of 20/20 tournaments where hired guns travel from one franchise to the next.

Re: Ashes 2023
How good would it be to win the next one. Then they would have to win 3 on the trot. If so, Stokes better ask for greener tops for the last 3 tests.

Ollie Robinson looks like your typical early thirties, semi depressed, overweight, white collar worker, who plays social sport on a Wednesday night and relentlessly abuses the 16 year old referee.

Why is is that aussies seem to hate the cricketers who sometimes act like australians?

Re: Ashes 2023
Couple of reflections now the dust has settled.
Loved Ponting making KP look a right old numpty when discussing Joe Root.
Why the press (both countries) are slamming Stokes and bazball yet in same breath saying how great it is for cricket etc. is mind-boggling. Yes Australia won............this time..........and whilst there will be some pressure on the home side in the next test, they will be damned if they do and damned if they don't continue with similar game plan and fall slightly short again.
Back to the sobbing (for some).

KP was right. Cummins was having to make reactive field reactive changes just to contain Root. The number one batsmen in the world was running the game.
Sobbing? Steve smith?

Re: Ashes 2023
So to rule a game you have to be NOT OUT? All cricketers have got out, even the number 1 batsmen in the world.Just Dave now wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 11:06 amand he got out so ponting was right , who won ? why would smith be sobbing , he would probably have a hangover from the celebratingGod is an Englishman wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 10:09 amBomber wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 9:50 am Couple of reflections now the dust has settled.

Re: Ashes 2023
Forcing the opposing captain to change the field does not make him to be 'dominating' or 'bossing' the game like KP claimed.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 10:09 amBomber wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 9:50 am Couple of reflections now the dust has settled.

Him getting out recklessly actually changed the entire trajectory of the 4th day.
That's my issue with Bazball at the moment - concept is very good but when it turns into needlessly, reckless batting it looks quite stupid

I disagree.
