Saudi's and FFP

Post by SBSFC »

Wondering FFP applies to the asian champions league and Saudi's in particular? I know its never really enforced but this is clearly a blatant disregard.

Any ideas or thoughts on the ruling?

FFP are UEFA regulations. They wouldn't apply to teams outside of Europe

Buying up everyone, considering most players are over 30 or not world class, only a matter of time before the $$$$$$$$ lures the talented.

Ben Jacobs dropped a tweet yesterday that basically indicated the Saudis and Chelsea have mutual interests and might be working together on Project Deadwood. PIF (Saudi fund) is invested in Chelsea’s ownership group, Clearlake, and they are now discussing offloading some of their deadwood for decent cash to the new Saudi power league. This really does point to a grim future. Football isn’t fair if someone is buying your dross because you have business ties. A market can only work if we’re living in a world of fair value. If there is no cost to your mistakes, that is unfair to the clubs that have a cost to theirs

You could also add n'Dombele to our list, but our shiraz ups don't make Havertz a better player, he's toilet.

Saw this on Piers Morgan last night. Another MC scandal involving their sponsors.

Manchester City embroiled in $38m fake sponsorship scandal

Allegations surfaced that Manchester City accepted $38 million in illegal funds from a "mystery" sponsorship in the United Arab Emirates. The "Britain's Biggest Football Scandal?" documentary highlighted the unreleased report from UEFA's Club Financial Control Board. UEFA completed an official report in 2020 according to widespread opinion. However, the governing body never released the information
