Yes, carrying the trophies all the way back home is a bit of a burden.

Ohh we don't like the ball the umpires chose.
Well, usually you do have to wait 80 overs before getting a new ball. ;-)
Strange how the aussies didn't seem to care when Cummins got the ball changed though.
Toooooo easy. :-)

Ashes trophy ours (still) & World Test Champions!
If that was just a wind up then well played. Hard to tell the difference between an aussie wind up whinge and the standard whinge this series.

Only one, we're double world champions.
There has been far more whingeing from the home side this series. Nice to see your lot celebrate "the way they played" whilst winning is actually secondary in their mindset.
Wanna beer?
Not now.
Maybe later......
So is it wrong to say "maybe later"?

The crowd

The umpires
The opposition
The crowd again

The media
The clouds
The bails

The list is long.

Seemed like a strange thing to bring up.

Just remember though, if you don't go for a beer on their schedule the aussies will whinge.

what a last test match, the Oval produced another great game.

Poms played well and deserved the win.
Aussies keep the ashes, but overall

Ozzzies played well in fisrt 2 games
Poms played well in last 3 games

would be spewing if i was a pom, robbed by that result!

What the replica urn, that tacky little thing. Couldn't one of your blokes simply pop it in his pocket for the duration? Like Broad has always done with Warner

As for Broad v Warner, now past tense, just like McGrath v Atherton.

Aussies 2-0 up and having England 142 for 7 in the third, scrambling a draw and then calling it a victory?? Define victory, what did you win

England won the 3rd test.

The 4th test was the draw.
The draw was meant to be a reference to the series.

Two tests each but they were really lucky in their two and only won the second one by dubious sportsmanship and the 4th was only drawn because of rain when we were killing them so we’re very unlucky not to have won that one and so should have won the series and been photoed with the pretend urn

Funny you say that. I watched the Back Page the other night and Crash Craddock kept harping on about the Bairstow stumping being probably the best tonic for england and really wasn't worth doing because at the time Australia were moseying along quite well and england looked a bit disjointed and going through the motions (even with bazball). Then that incident seemed to get everyone on the team up and about and more galvanized etc. Throw in the "angry" home crowd and the little edges certainly helped them. Reckon he (Craddock) had a point.
Anyway, shoulda, coulda......... ;-)
